Wer sich durch die Straßen von Paris schlängelt und achtsam sich die Bauwerke und Statuen ansieht, hat sicher schon einmal die Condorcet Statue an der Seine erblickt!

Doch wer weiß eigentlich wer dieser Herr war?

Der Herr Condorcet ist einer der Personen, welche die Geschichte mit geprägt hat.
Geboren ist dieser am 17. September 1743 in Ribemont und verstorben ist Herr Condorcet am 28. März 1794 in Bourg-la-Reine.
Er war als französischer Philosoph, Mathematiker und Politiker der Aufklärung bekannt.

Allen Anschein nach, war Herr Condorcet ein überzeugter Vertreter der Aufklärer, ebenso galt er als Liberaler.

Im Jahre 1790 trat er, kurz nach der französischen Verkündung der Menschenrechte und der Bürgerrechte, vehement dafür ein, diese Rechte ebenso den Frauen zu gewähren, welches zu dieser Zeit kaum vorstellbar schien.

In Condorcet „Essay Sur l’admission des femmes au droit de cité“, welches am 3. Juli 1790 veröffentlichten wurde, sprach er sich für die Einführung des Frauenwahlrechts deutlich aus.

Der Herr war stark für Gleichberechtigung und deshalb trat er für die Gleichberechtigung von schwarzen Menschen ein, ebenso für die Abschaffung der Sklaverei und für den Freihandel.

Es war Herr Harold B. Acton, welcher Herrn Condorcet als Mann der Aufklärung, einen Advokaten der wirtschaftlichen und ebenfalls sozialen Freiheit, der religiösen Toleranz und der rechtlichen und erzieherischen Reformen umschrieben hatte.

Jedoch hatte Condorcet auch seine strengen Prinzipien bzw. Eigendisziplin. Seine Jugendfreundin Frau Amélie Suard beschrieb deinen Charakter folgendermaßen:
„Es gab niemanden, der fester in seinen Überzeugungen war und keinen, der beständiger in seinen Gefühlen war.“

Von sich selbst sagte der Werte Condorcet:
„Ich werde mich niemals dazu erniedrigen, meine Grundsätze und mein Verhalten zu rechtfertigen.“

Im Bereich der Sozial- und Politikwissenschaften ist Herr Condorcet für das sogenannte Condorcet-Paradoxon sehr bekannt geworden.

Die wichtigsten wissenschaftlichen Werke waren von Condorcet seine Arbeiten zur Wahrscheinlichkeitsrechnung und zur mathematischen Philosophie.

Ebenso recht berühmt wurde er für die Analysis und zum Dreikörperproblem im Jahre 1768.
Condorcet im Jahre 1785 veröffentlichte Abhandlung „Essai sur l’application de l’analyse à la probabilité des décisions rendues à la pluralité des voix“ war sehr entscheidend für die Entwicklung der Wahrscheinlichkeitstheorie.

Herr Condorcet entwickelte ebenso die Condorcet-Methode, welche zur Durchführung und Auswertung von Wahlen von einem unter vielen Kandidaten.

Außerdem ist er berühmt für das Condorcet-Paradoxon, wonach es möglich ist, dass eine Mehrheit die Option A gegenüber einer Option B wählt, zugleich eine Mehrheit die Option B gegenüber der Option C bevorzugt und trotz allem eine Vielzahl die Option C gegenüber der Option A aussucht.

Man könnte schlicht sagen der Herr verstand es ein profiler des menschlichen Denkens zu sein!
