This week I will digress from the stories from Greece and return to the photos from my second trip to the island of Tenerife in 2011.

Today I would like to show some pictures of the Teide volcano.

The Teide volcano is the main attraction of the island of Tenerife. Its height is more than three and a half kilometers and it is the highest mountain in Spain. If you look at Tenerife from the ocean, you can see that the cone of the volcano occupies most of the island. In a word, when you come to the island of Tenerife, you come to the volcano.

Teide originated in the crater of another ancient volcano – Las Cañadas. The crater of Las Cañadas is located at an altitude of more than two kilometers and is one of the largest craters in the world with a diameter of almost sixteen kilometers.

Since 1954, most of the island of Tenerife led by the volcano and the crater of Las Cañadas is the National Park of Teide.

Los Roques is the most popular and famous place in the Las Cañadas crater, not far from the foot of the volcano. Los Roques is a fantastic natural landscape of solidified lava rivers and bizarre rocks, reminiscent of American westerns or movies about other planets.

These are two identical photos (the same file is used). However, our brain stubbornly refuses to accept their identity. It seems to us that the photos are taken from different angles.
