Along the Volga in the first days of May

May 2020 · 2 min read · Ivanovo Oblast

Spring!

This is a great time of the year. The sun warms the earth and the forest is already greening. It is pleasant to walk along the street, and look at the awakening nature.

We drove along the Volga River on the left bank.

From Kostroma to the side of Kineshma. First, we drove through a settlement like Krasnoe-on-Volga. This is our local jewelry mecca. In this small village a lot of jewelry production is concentrated.

All of them process gold and silver and turn these noble metals into beautiful products for men and women.

But spring is now and I am not interested in all these production topics. We go to nature.

It's very warm outside. The first days of May are usually just that.

In the region of Ples, I went down by car closer to the Volga River. In front of me on the right bank of the river is this famous Russian city - Ples.

The famous Russian landscape painter Iisak Levitan loved to be here.

Nature is rampant with life.

Large puddles along the roads are filled with something that is about to jump out of the water and pounce on you.

This is me joking.

I just want to show the beauty of my native land in the first days of May. It's amazing how green grass and leaves are gaining strength. Here and there, fishermen are already sitting along the river.

After we went along the Ples along the road to Kineshma, it suddenly became clear that this road does not exist. Rather, there is a road, but without cover - just a strip of land without asphalt all consisting of pits and puddles.

And so I drive very slowly through these pits and puddles, and am surprised at all the views that I see.

I drove along this road for the first time in my life. I heard before that there is such a road, but I never drove along it. Frankly, the road is very picturesque. In some places, the requested churches, small rivers, fields and forests are found.

Everything is very beautiful and it doesn’t even matter that the road is very bad.

When I arrived in Kineshma, I decided to go back on a detour along the right bank of the Volga. But only in order to get home faster.

The walk was just great.
