Beautiful roads of Crimea

Road from Alushta to Sudak

It rained all day yesterday. But today, it seems the day will be more sunny. Remembering a good sunny day from my vacation in Crimea, I want to celebrate one such clear day.

That day I went along a small curved path along the Black Sea coast. This road is a constant turn. The quality of the road surface is acceptable. It is very difficult to accelerate to speeds above 60 kilometers per hour. But frankly, speed is not needed, because you constantly want to twirl your head and trash around.

This road is very beautiful. Amazing views open up here and there. Sea, rocks, greenery on the shore - all this creates amazingly beautiful paintings.

By the way, this road was built in the Soviet Union. In tsarist times, the road was practically absent, although there was a need for the road and there were projects to create the road.

On the one hand there was the sea, on the other years.
A bit about the mountains. The main mountain here is called Demerdzhi. This is one of the most famous mountains in Crimea.

Demerdzhi is composed of limestone, interspersed with hard rocks and boulders. Due to the weathering that destroyed the limestone, bizarre natural sculptures formed on its peaks and slopes. The height of Demerdzhi is 1356 meters above sea level.

From the Crimean Tatar language the name of the mountain is translated as "blacksmith".

The mountain is large and hides a lot of interesting things on its slopes. It is worth going on a hike for a few days. Unfortunately, our trip did not provide for such deviations from the course. Maybe I’ll come here to visit this mountain.

In the meantime, I drive and drive on, enjoying the views. In general, because of the species, I love Crimea. It's very beautiful here.

On this road, I met an interesting lighthouse temple. In its height, the temple has no analogues in the Crimea. The total height of the temple is, according to various estimates, up to 65 meters. On all four facades of the temple, images of saints are inscribed in the shape of a huge cross.
A temple can be a beacon in its design. A lighthouse is installed in the dome, but it is not included in nautical charts and directions.
The temple was founded in 2004 and built in 2006. In just 2 years, such a beautiful building was built. In addition to the construction itself, soil strengthening was carried out. The fact is that in those places shifts and landslides of the earth occur very often.

In any case, all difficulties were overcome and we can now admire this sea church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

And these are just some of the interesting beauties and views of the very road from Alushta to Sudak.
