Ipatiev Monastery on a sunny day

By publishing photos and stories from a trip to Italy, I completely lost sight of some good clear days in my homeland. During this period, good cloudless weather is a rarity. Usually the sky is in clouds, the sun is dimly breaking through the haze. Under the feet is not mud or ice. But sometimes great days are given when the sky is blue and the sun shines brightly.

One of those frosty bright days turned out on the weekend and I was pleased to walk along the Kostroma River along the embankment near the Ipatiev Monastery.
You could say it was the first frosty day of this winter. Ice has not yet risen on the large Volga River, but ice has already appeared on small rivers and ponds.
There was no snow, so the world looks very strange. There is no snow, but there is ice. Ice on the puddles, hoarfrost on the grass. Ice is something new after a long period when ice can only be found in the refrigerator or in a cocktail.
I went down to the edge of the water by the river and made some frames of strange cracks and bubbles in the mass of ice. These natural paintings are amazingly beautiful.

Walking on a cold clear day was enjoyable. The main thing is to dress very warmly, because from a habit, cold is perceived very poorly. Some funny -3 degrees feel as if -30. At the same time, at the very end of winter, even -10 is felt quite differently. It seems that all those same -3.
But it doesn’t matter.
The walk near the Ipatiev Monastery was very pleasant to me. The view of the monastery itself added pleasure to the walk. In addition to the walls and panoramas of the monastery, I focused on the details. Hoarfrost, hoarfrost, ice, grass - all these details of the coming winter.
