Chocolate from Kasimova

Today, the photographs reflect the city of Kasimov.

To be honest, I didn’t even know about such a city before I decided to go there. This city simply lay on my way towards Ryazan, which I wanted to visit.

On the other hand, it is interesting to come to an unfamiliar city and try to understand what is special about it and how it may be interesting.

The city of Kasimov is located on the banks of the Oka River. Once it was a border fortress of the Vladimir-Suzdal principality. And in those days it was called differently. At the time of the creation of the city, in this year 1152, this city was called Gorodets Meshchersky. This city has not coexisted to this day, as it was completely destroyed during the Mongol invasion in 1376.

The new city was rebuilt after burning by the Mongols in the early 15th century. Then the Grand Duke Vasily the Dark transferred this city to the Tatar princes. One of them was Qasim.

Thus, the city began to be called Kasimov - which means the possession of Kashima. And so this city turned into the capital of the small Kassim Khanate.

We arrived in the city late in the evening and went on a tour of local attractions. The main attraction is the historic city center.

Here are the shopping arcades created by the self-taught architect from Kasimov. Both the main square of the city and the ancient minaret of the 15th century are next to the swords built in the 19th century.

We examined all this in the last rays of the summer sun.

The city is not big at all and looks more like a village. Around everything is green trees. Near the hill you can see the Oka River.

We went to the hotel to spend the night and move on with renewed vigor.

In the morning we decided to take a look at the city again. It turned out that the new day was a day off and, accordingly, a large market was developed on the main square of the city.

Here they sold both food and clothes. All this is very unusual for our hometown of Kostroma.

We went to the same places, but in the light of day, and after that I decided to cross the Oka along the bridge located near the city and look at the panorama that opens from the river.

And not in vain, because Kasimov looked very good from the river. This is a real provincial Russian town mixed with Tatar culture. Here, everything is somewhat different and more exotic that we have in Kostroma.

By the way, in the city of Kasimov there is a chocolate factory that produces very tasty chocolate under the brand "Fidelity to traditions." We accidentally stumbled upon the factory outlet of this factory and bought some chocolate. After I even regretted that we bought a little chocolate.

It was very tasty and now I always remember with awe the city of Kasimov.
