Through the mountains to meteors

The morning of a new day. Beautiful weather, blue sky and the sun warms pleasantly. A short walk along the sea, breakfast and the choice of the next point on the route.

During a night's rest, I examined the map of the area and found out that not very far from the place where we were there is a very important object for inspection. These are the so-called Meteors. Monasteries on the rocks, ancient and very important cultural and historical sites.

I figured out the route and decided to go there on the most direct road. This is a small path through the mountains. From the experience of past travels, I knew that such a small track usually takes much longer, since the speed of movement along it is always very low.

But that didn’t scare me. Adventure is one of the main interesting moments of any trip. While the road was on the foothills, everything was great. Around was real spring. Everything was in colors. The smells of spring excited the nervous system.

All these bright flowers looked especially impressive against the background of the white snow caps of the mountains. Speaking of mountains, these are the very Olympic mountains. According to the legends of the ancient Greeks, gods lived in these mountains.

The farther we moved into the mountains, the easier and easier the road became. It's good that the weather was great. First, the road became from asphalt to dirt, but covered with gravel. Then the road became just dirt. And when a rut appeared in the dirt road and large pits, I thought that maybe it was in vain that I went along this road.

The views along the road were amazing. We were greeted by mountain lakes around green mountains. That's very beautiful.

On the way we met small villages. They huddled on the slopes of the mountains. Our road led through one such village. At this moment, the road had only one lane in both directions. I drove along a narrow path through the village and saw that the road led even higher to the pass.

Since I took the car very low power, driving on such roads with a large slope required a certain skill and attention. In addition, high fuel consumption, since I had to go in first, second gear.

When I subsequently spoke with local residents about this route, they told me that no one is using it now. Everyone is driving around the new fast road.

We passed the pass.

Here we began to meet different representatives of the local fauna. The foal crossed the road. After a while, I braked in front of the turtle, which was crawling across the asphalt of the road.

When we passed the pass and I calmed down about the safety of the road, new views began to open before us. In the distance, there were prominent rocks sticking out of the ground - this is the purpose of our route - Meteora.
