Smoke and fog in a birch land

Smoke and fog in a birch land

July evening in nature.

You know how great it is. In the early morning or evening drive by car along small paths among fields and forests. So this evening I drove and looked at the sun, which shone through the branches of trees standing along the road.

I really love the sun, sunsets and sunrises.

And the most amazing thing is that these sunsets and sunrises are almost different every time. The state of the sky, the state of weather, the state of air and everything else are different, but most importantly, the Earth revolves around the Sun and every day the position of the star in the sphere of the sky is slightly different from the situation on the previous day.

This time everything was even more interesting, since there was fog above the field. This white veil created a beautiful light haze that adorned the landscape.

Or maybe it was not fog but smoke? It's hard for me to say ...

The middle strip of Russia has a very beautiful nature. Forests, coniferous and deciduous, rivers, fields ... Personally, in our nature, I only lack mountains.

When I see mountains traveling around the world, I experience new feelings of admiration. If the mountains were here with us, then I would be happier. Or maybe not. Maybe this is just an illusion.

And we also have our main Russian symbol - a tree. This is a birch.

Birch is a very important tree for Russian culture. In addition to various important qualities that allow you to use birch as firewood, you can get birch sap, even use birch buds as a medicine, there is another use of tree bark, which makes Russian history closer to us.

These are birch bark letters. Birch bark is the top layer of the bark. This bark is saturated with tarry substances and can be stored for a very long time. Our ancestors used birch bark as a recording paper.

The real birch bark letters, which were not written in ink but with a special metal wand, which was called "wrote", were found most recently by the scale of history. In fact, this is the beginning of the 20th century, although the events in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century and after, the Great Patriotic War did not allow us to deal with these discoveries normally.

But in the second half of the 20th century, in Veliky Novgorod and Smolensk, interesting documents were found that were preserved precisely on birch bark. So birch allowed to find out how people lived in ancient Russia.

And now I’m mine on the modern road and look at the beauties - birch trees growing along the road and delighting me with their white trunks.
