Sun, sea, pines and cacti

May 2020 · 2 min read · Peloponnese, West Greece and Ionian Sea

One beautiful day

Walking through the ruins of the Acropolis of Athens and admiration for the historical and cultural values of Greece weary. The work of the brain requires a lot of energy and at some point we wanted to escape from the tourist bustle of nature.

We got into the car and went to the Peloponnesian Peninsula. Having driven a little deeper into the peninsula, I turned towards the sea.

At home we live on the plain and we need to drive 2,000 kilometers to the sea. We have a large beautiful river Volga, but, firstly, the water in it is fresh, and secondly, this is a river.

And we wanted the sea. It's nice to look at the endless waters. I do not know why. Maybe this is some kind of genetic memory of our ancient cradle.

We arrived in the town of Nafplion. I’ll tell you about this interesting city another time, but now I want to go to the sea.

It so happened that we arrived in the city from the side of the city beach. Our desire for water made us go down to the beach.

This beach is called Arvanitia. The beach is very beautiful, although not sandy. This beach is the only one near the city and it is popular with locals.

When we went down to the water, I thought I was in paradise. I have never seen such azure water.

It was very warm. A gentle warm breeze blew. Cliffs and mountains added a special chic.

In addition, there was a pine forest around the beach. This forest gave a shadow and a very tasty and pleasant smell of pine trees.

I wanted to sit on a stone and sit looking at the water. The water was very clean and clear.

It was the very thing that we needed to rest in order to find new adventures and explore our Greece.

For a while we sat on the beach and enjoyed happiness and peace. Then we got up and went along a small path that led us along the coast, as if a yellow brick road led the girl to the Wizard of Goodwin.

The city of Nafplion was waiting for us.
