Boat on the water Scuba diving in the Philippines

Boat on the water Scuba diving in the Philippines

April 2023 · 4 min read · Palawan

The waves wake me to the sound of there callings. I listen and make my way to the ocean for another day of scuba diving. The water provides a comfort and the knowledge that there is a power that can disappear me in a quick instance.

The type of boat that will be our scuba diving boat.

Almost loaded up and ready...just a few more things...oh wait the captain is hung over and we are waiting for him to arrive.

Not the captain but another crew who was a bit delicate today.

The kids play as they do waiting for the day to progress on through.

The captain and crew has made there way to the boat. I did not understand the language but understood enough words to know the they are all hung over. And I have seen enough people to know and see that they are are hung over.

They are ready and moving slow.

Here we go the push off and depart as the engine sounds pound their heads.

We set a course and head that way...which way, I do not know. But I could find out as I mark dive sites on the map.

How glorious to be on a boat in the ocean.

Check out that sail boat out there.... I wonder where they came from...I wonder where they are going...

As we pass the other ship we make our way to some more floating rocks that were out of view from the kayak trip we went on.

Having a boat and getting taken around island and eddies with locals is that  way to do this type of trip. Local insight is the best way to get to know the place, space, people and culture.

From afar, we make our way closer to this rock formation. We will make a dive by this rock and then head to another spot.

The trip to and from the dive site tends to be quite a fun aspect to scuba diving. The time to see the scenery and landscape from many different angles off shore is by far the most fascinating way to travel around the coast.

Another larger floating rock, in time will look as thought it floats.

We head out by the floating rock again.

Up close we tie off to the rock and drop anchor.

The first crew goes down and I wait behind for the third crew and my buddies to get suited up and ready to go down.

How amazing to be so close to this rock formation and yet be so far away from it by way of having so much water between the boat and the rock. How does the boat stay away from the rock and not slam into it?

Not too close...

WE move on from this spot and head towards another dive spot.

Right around here we shall dive again. Close to the rocks but far enough away to not crash.

Look at the water, how clear it is.

Perfect spot to jump in to cool down after the dive.

We have some food and then head on to another spot to dive.

There they are.
There they are.

As we all finish the dive and make our way back towards the main island we come across the rig on the ocean.

The clouds start to roll in as we head back to the main island. Good things we went early and made three dives as the weather now makes the sky gloomy on the trip back.

Slowly we make it back as the days success settle into the feelings that are left over form the excitement of the day.
