Starting the day On right, El Nido, Philippines

March 2023 · 3 min read · Palawan

It is a glorious day break as I stroll the beach and see the blue beams of a boat. I particularly like this angle on the outhaul braces.

The contrast and lines against the white brings the bright.

As I start to have a closer look at a type of boat I have seen in pictures, now in front of me, I am called away for break fast.  I should have taken more photos of this boat but I will see more again and focus a post on that later.

Today we will hire a local to drive us around and tell us about the place. We met a good person who has knowledge of the lands, so they offered and it would be nice to learn and see what the island has to offer. And so much more thus far given the friendliness and warmth that is felt here.

Without delay we are whisked away after a simple but nice meal to start the day.

The fabrication of these bikes is quite something that I quite like.

I wont bother trying to take too many pictures as we drive by places and there will be too may things to list so ill share the surrounding of the bike which is almost still for those pictures will be much better.

Still the shake is too mcuh for the camer to take...something must be done.

Lets get a better angle on this beauty of a machine.

We ride around the island as we chat and learn about the place, people and culture. We stop and have a bite to eat and move on.

Finaly we stop where many Jeepneys are parked.

I walk over to have a look.

The layout is similar to most Jeepneys, but each one is unique.

I wander and have a look at the row of Jeepneys. We set off again and wander the town slowly and intrigued at the happenings around town. We find a place to have some time to sit and plan the next few days. With more information on the area and the place it is time to plan some trips.

After time of plans and ideas we have a good idea what will transpire into the next few days. The tentative plans is some kayaking around the island, swimming, relaxing, and scuba diving. All these aspect will be explored in the coming posts.

  • Thanks for having a look today at the lazy day around the beach.

More to come. Stay tuned.
