A Day at Warner Bros. World, Abu Dhabi

The day has finally come!

It was almost an unplanned trip. A family excursion to the Warner Bros. World was not in our agenda, but when we got a call from a friend inviting us to join them, we did not hesitate.

Warner Bros. World, located in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, opened to the public in 2018. It is an indoor amusement park, based on Warner Bros. characters like Looney Tunes, DC Comics, Hanna-Barbera, to name a few. No doubt, it is one of the best places to visit with small kids and family.

There are several ways of buying tickets - single day tickets, multi-park tickets (where you can also go to other theme parks in Yas Island like Ferrari World and Yas Waterpark), and annual pass, for those who see themselves going back again and again. Ticket price is AED 295 ($80) for adults, and AED 230 ($63) for children. Most hotels in Yas Island also offer complimentary theme park tickets when you check into their respective hotels.

This was what we did. We checked in to Radisson Blu Hotel for AED 635 ($172.50) for a day, and got for ourselves free tickets to a day of fun with our favorite cartoon characters and superheroes!

Warner Bros. World

Bugs Bunny is the Warner Bros. character that I very well know, so it was quite a treat already to see him as soon as we enter the theme park.

He is there, standing tall and giving everyone a warm welcome, Warner Bros.-style. The vibe was already being set by the lively music around.

After each one of us finally got our wristbands, we decided that we shall go about the place in a counter-clockwise direction, starting from the right entrance - to The Bedrock.

Nope, Fred Flinstone and the rest of the gang were not there that time, but my kids found their "cars" and played around for some time.

We found ourselves by the Bedrock River and thought of going for a little adventure, but we were told that both my two younger kids did not yet meet the height requirement.

Alright, kids below 1.3m in height are not allowed in most of the rides inside the theme park. That means my two younger kids won't be able to try them.

At least we found Yosemite Sam wandering about nearby and we got to take a photo with him.

And oh, The Jetson's Cosmic Orbitter allows smaller kids, as long as accompanied by an adult of course. My Little Monster and I tried it. You will see a clip of him enjoying the "cosmic tour" on the video at the end of this post.

Kuya, my eldest on the other hand, was able to ride a roller coaster with daddy @kennyroy and my other friends at the Dynamite Gulch. They had a dash across a desert landscape, following Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner! He definitely had a blast out there.

As we went along, we reached the Cartoon Junction.

We found rows of houses, and got to check out Tom and Jerry's house. Again, my two younger ones could not come inside (height restriction - they now have the motivation to eat healthier food and grow faster!), so it was just Kuya and I who had a thrilling ride inside Jerry's burrow.

Good thing, while we were hanging out with Tom and Jerry, @kennyroy and the other two kiddos went on an adventure with Scooby Doo and the gang.

The Heroes Among Us

We had our lunch at Acme and went on to visit the Metropolis. Good thing, Superman did not seem too busy. We saw him walking about the streets.

The moment of peace did not last long because few moments later, when we visited the The Daily Planet, we saw him (through VR) in action while saving the day.

Meanwhile, Batman was also having a rough day, as he fought with Joker near Gotham City.

It was not fun inside the Joker Funhouse at all. Tricky Joker was waiting inside to trick your eyes with mirror maze, determined for you to lose your way. Do not trust the Joker, by all means.

When not busy fighting for the greater good, or getting photographed with fans, these heroes, including Aquaman and Cyborg were inside the Hall of Justice.

The last, but also probably one of the best rides we had, was The Green Lantern: Galactic Odyssey, a 4D flying theater experience where we got transported across worlds. It really felt as if we were flying with the Green Lantern!

Best Family Experience

This one is definitely one for the books. Since the first visit, my kids have been praying for the next one especially that the smaller two were not eligible for most rides that time.

To top it all, we also had a grand time at the Radisson Blu Hotel, where we had sumptuous breakfast buffet the next morning. The kids and a grand time at the pool too, before we checked out in the afternoon.

It was indeed a great and memorable weekend staycation for my family!
