MyPictureDay: Welcome to Manila Yacht Club 😁

November 2018 Β· 5 min read Β· Malate

Look where I went! 😁 I went so early the sun was shining brightly. πŸ˜‚

image

Ah the places I get to because of my job. I love it. 😁 I got there past 7am and took pics around 7:30am so somehow the sun isn't that bright yet.

Or maybe my phone just needs to be replaced now. πŸ˜‚ Seriously it is suddenly causing a few pictures to be corrupted after a few minutes! What a shocker, it never used to do that πŸ€”

Anyway so the event was the opening of Manila Yacht Club for this year until next year. I have no idea what yacht clubs do though. I mean, is it like a port or what? πŸ˜… A team mate said it's so they can dock their yachts wherever they are a member. Hmmm. πŸ€”

So anyway we were there manning the booth for Westin Residences. Apparently our company is one of the sponsors of the event. Sadly the property wasn't officially presented to the yacht club members on stage. At least we were able to give out flyers and explain what it is to some of them. 😁

Which reminds me, there's only 3 more days to enter my writing contest abt this property. Write to win some SBD. 😁

So anyway, we were also able to eat breakfast and lunch! Oh la la! Even if I ate early in the morning, I still got some food when it was offered. It was a buffet so why not eat, right? I got Bangus bellies, scrambled eggs and something I forget now. Sorry no pictures of the food though. It's all in my stomach. Haha.

Breakfast was okay, but lunch was waaaay better. I didn't eat rice because, you know... buffet. 😁 I ate fried chicken, lechon skin, itlog na pula (salted egg), veggies and fruits. They also had fruit salad and the best leche flan. Mmmm. Whoever made it is amazing. ❀️

In between I was also able to drink fresh and delicious buko (coconut) juice. Surprisingly it was not a watered down buko juice I was used to drinking at juice stands. It really tasted very buko-ish. Haha. They had melon juice too.

The program didn't start on time but when it did there was a bit of ceremony. There were also several flags the members raised. Then there was a very short talk + cannon firing.

The guest who launched or fired the cannon was Sen. Tito Sotto. Too bad I wasn't able to take a good photo of him when he arrived. I'm not much of a paparazzi I guess. Haha.

image

This is the only photo of him that I got. (The one holding his mustache.) When he arrived and came in, the band played some music. Nice huh. πŸ‘

I also took a pic of him after he fired the cannon but heck my Xiaomi Red4A phone is really not that good at all. It's only good for games as the reviews said. Guess I shouldn't have bought it then. πŸ˜₯ I was still thinking not in terms of using my phone for work. Now I know better!

Lastly they went on ahead and rode a yacht to somewhere then came back. Of course we weren't able to go where they went because we just stayed at the booth in the dining area. Haha.

There were several people who attended the event. Maybe less than 40 or 50 minus the boat officers and such? It wasn't jampacked as a golf club event as only a select few and even some foreigners came too. Other people came around lunch time actually. πŸ˜‚ I was thinking, why not when the food is amazing and free during the event. Hehe.

As for us, well there were six of us in the sales group. We were also able to take pictures of the place of course. Only us females took pics and selfies while the guys didn't even bother.

image

So does this mean guys don't really care about taking pictures and selfies at a new place they've been for the first time? Hmmm. πŸ€” Well they were just two guys so I guess they aren't yacht fans? 😁

Anyway here's a pic at the end of the entrance walkway going to the set up stage and dining area.

image

And guess what I found early in the morning too! A big bird! I don't know what bird this is though. Look!

image

I'm very fortunate to have snapped it right where it was. Haha. I mean, it looks like a part of the NEWS it's standing on. I'm not even sure what it's called, it's definitely not a compass. πŸ˜‚

It's a big bird, I'm guessing it's bigger than a parrot but smaller than an eagle. Not sure of the size because it's far from where I was. I'm just amazed seeing it I don't know why. Haha. I need to get out in the wild maybe to see more uncommonly seen animals. 😁

Check out my short vid!

Ah it was just a fantastic day out that's all I can say. I traveled from Quezon City to Pasay/Manila area but it was worth it. I got to be in a yacht club and see yachts! Hahaha.
