I believe in the power of written words, but it will going to be a long story if I will vividly narrate how this enchanting mountain amazed me of what it offers from the jump-off point to the wonderful summit. So I'll simply make it short. ๐
Mt. Yangbew (Yang-bu) Seems to have this mystifying magic to make me climb and see what's in there. In one word Mt Yangbew is an absolutely enthralling!
It was really a crazy thought of trekking during midday wearing a blue tight jeans (yeah, I know its not a proper outfit for mountaineering but that's fine ๐) Seems a little weird, right? Ha-ha, we need to kill time and have no idea where to go, thus me and my awesome friends ended up at Mt. Yangbew also known as Mt. Jumbo.
It was an easy climb for me passing up and down the trail, but honestly, If you're that person who has this low stamina then you might need to exert more effort. Exactly, like the most thing in life, going through hardship and conquering makes it more beautiful and gratifying. Ugh! So dramatic. ๐
Climbing Mt. Yangbew doesn't require a tour guide unlike other mountains that are open for hikers. You'll simply need to follow the trail going up strait and congrats, you will find yourself at the top! As I step my foot on the peak, I was truly astonished by the breathtaking taking view of the rolling grassland, similar to Mt. Ulap's peak. I was welcomed by the cool breeze that perfectly swayed my hair (joke ๐) And what creates it more magnificent is that it was surrounded by majestic mountains like Prayer mountain and the famous Mt. Kalugong. It is indeed a gorgeous God-creation under the bluish sky!
How we get there?
We used a private car of an awesome friend. From take the route from Baguio City to Km4 La Trinidad. Then, we head to Pines park up to Lubas, Tawang. It's easy to situate where the starting point of the journey since there is a signage and a mini store where you can buy a souvenir shirt. It takes us approximately 20-30 minutes to get to our destination due to the heavy traffic along Km4 road.
If you're commuting, just ride a jeepney at Magsaysay bound to Km4 La Trinidad, then take another ride from Pines Park to Lubas Tawang, just ask the driver to drop you to the destination. Do not forget your rain coat, it might rain during late afternoon And oh! Lastly, don't forget a bottle of water. ๐
