Transcendental Meditation -Simple How-To, I Learned In Prison During A Data Study Done By Maharishi University

It might seem funny to think of a bunch of criminals in prison learning about meditation and sitting cross-legged in their bunks for hours with their eyes closed in perfect peace, but that is exactly what happened! It was amazing. I ended up becoming very good at poker and even becoming a fluent Spanish speaker from scratch in about 10 months. I don't think that I would have achieved these things nearly as quickly if it was not for the focus that I gained meditating every day.

Doing This For 20 Minutes, Twice A Day, Can Improve Your Life. This technique is similar to the techniques used by the Yogi monks. There is a huge body of data suggesting that there are numerous health benefits brought by frequent meditation. Reduced stress levels, increased energy, improved focus and better sleep are among these. I, personally, learned transcendental meditation from a man named Blaze Compton and his brother. They work for the Maharishi University of Data Science and I pay them great respect. This article will not impart to you all the knowledge that was imparted to me by Blaze and his brother, but I believe that if you follow these simple steps you should be able to find the same great inner bliss that I have also found through transcendental meditation.

Interesting Fact: The brain exhibits different brain frequencies in the different states of being. We have a different brain frequency when we are awake, then when we are asleep, or when we are in REM sleep. However, there is another brain frequency that has been found only during the deep rest of meditation. That state of being, is the one found in the famous Yogi monks that most of us have heard of. The Yogi Mind is a somewhat common turn of phrase. Through real data analysis, we have learned that The Yogi Mind is not just a turn of phrase. The frequencies and brain function of a Yogi monk are actually DIFFERENT than that of a regular person who does not use these techniques. Not just when they are meditating, but all the time! Their brain function is actually different during all three of the other states of being as well (awake, asleep, REM sleep.) This really is quite incredible. What's even more incredible? Studies have shown that it only takes 4.5 months of reaching this deep rest state found during meditation, for 20 minutes a day, before the human brain reaches the same transcendent state as the Yogi monks! What does this mean? Does this mean that you can become a Yogi monk?! I have no idea but I do know that doing these simple steps has improved my clarity, my focus, my learning speed, my sleep, my stress levels and my life.

Steps I Use To Transcend:

  • Come up with a word or a sound that does NOT HAVE ANY MEANING! Do not attribute this word or sound to any meaning or relate it with anything in your life. If you do, it will not be able to fulfill the purpose that we have in mind. An example of the word could be, Nalkah, or Ralnah or whatever, as long as it has no meaning TO YOU.

  • Once you have come up with your sound, whatever it may be, find yourself somewhere quiet and get in the most comfortable position that you can be, except for laying down, (we aren't trying to make a habit of putting ourselves to sleep by accident instead of transcending.)

  • Now take a deep breath and begin saying your word at a normal volume level, leaving your eyes open. Repeat the word, and don't attribute any meaning to it, just listen to the sound of it as you speak it. Slowly, begin to close your eyes as you keep repeating your sound.

  • Once your eyes have fully closed, begin to say your word aloud, more and more quietly. Keep getting quieter and quieter until you are at a whisper so low, that you can't even hear it aloud.

  • Continue saying the word more and more quietly in your mind. Don't worry about if your mouth is still moving. Eventually you won't even have to say the word out loud at all to transcend, but for your first few times, it usually helps a lot to start out actually saying your word aloud, until it's so quiet that it's only being spoken in your mind.

  • Continue repeating the sound more quietly in your mind. Just keep getting quieter and quieter. If you stop hearing the word at all it's okay. This is where we want to be. Don't REFLECT on this. Something very important, there can be no actual goal, only the acceptance of ones simple existence! In order to reach pure consciousness there must be no directive from the ego! If you find yourself thinking about not thinking or anything else, allow the thoughts to happen and just go back to your word, repeating it more and more quietly again until you forget where you're at or what you are doing again.

A couple of guidelines to remember:

  • Where we are going, there is no thought, only pure consciousness with no words.

  • It is okay if thoughts enter your mind, let them pass through it naturally and return to your unique sound.

  • Don't TRY not to think anything. To TRY at all goes directly against what we are doing.

  • If you think to yourself. "Wow, I'm transcending right now!" THEN YOU ARE NOT TRANSCENDING! If you have transcended, it is likely that you won't realize it till after you leave your transcendent state.

  • EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: When exiting the deep rest state of transcendence, take your time. Very slowly open your eyes. If the light hurts them or starts to give you a headache when you are still squinting, just close them again open them more slowly. Throwing your body and mind back into the regular state of consciousness can completely negate the positive, stress reducing effects that meditation has. Ease yourself comfortably back into your regular state.

I strongly advocate the Maharishi Institute and suggest that you look them up, as well as my teachers Blaze and his brother. This is just a rough idea of how to transcend, which may help you if you don't have the 1,500 hundred bucks to take the class, or don't want to spend a couple years in prison to learn.
