Wow, this set of photos is a blast from my past... a period when we were still living in Europe, and we had taken a little ferry and car trip across the Channel to spend a week in the quite amazingly beautiful area of the Cotswolds in the United Kingdom. Of course, when you have children with you, you do need to seek out quite a few things that are more kiddie oriented!
... and we found one really nice place in the form of this Farm Park, apparently the home of Adam Henson... I had no idea who Adam Henson was, but my wife told me he was a television presenter!
Anyway, he had set up this farm park that is a perfect place to visit if you have young children...
... and it doubles a bit as a sort of preservation park as well!
As you can see from the entry map, there are quite a bunch of different things to do for children of varying ages. All of which are good introductions to the running of a farm and the rural life for city families (like ours!).
... and activities all throughout the day!
We did arrive on a day where it was threatening to storm and rain... but in the end, we were quite lucky and managed to have decent enough weather for the whole time there. It might have rained when we went inside for lunch, but apart from that... it was just a touch windy. Something that we were used to from our other home across the Channel in the Netherlands!
Sheep of all sorts were the early star attractions in the open fields near the entrance.
... and we did manage to fit in a sheep show as well!
... but once we managed to find the petting and handling areas, well... the various little critters were all going to be runaway winners in the cuteness stakes! Definitely big hits with our girls!
... even this emo looking bunny!

There were also feeding pens where you could also hand feed the smaller livestock animals with milk or dry feed. It is weird, but this sort of thing is always going to be a hit with the children... I always find the rough tongue of an animal tickling my hand to be incredibly strange!
I'm not entirely sure if this was a special event or something that is here all the time, but there was this interesting cornfield maze that was styled after Alice in Wonderland.
... pretty cool decorations, and glad that we were doing this in daylight hours. I'm sure that this would rapidly start to turn into a creepy horror movie after dusk!

... and yes, there were actors hiding in the fields. The Mad Hatter's Tea Party here... Strange job... but it could be worse I guess!
We had a fun day out here, definitely worth a visit if you are in the area with small kids!
