Micks Burgers: Sydney, AUSTRALIA

The northern parts of Sydney are a bit of an unfamiliar place for me... but this time, I had been put up in an apartment accommodation in the area... and so, I had to go out wandering to find food to eat. Of course, there were cooking facilities in the apartment but I was travelling back and forth between home and Sydney, so the time for cooking was a bit limited.

On the first evening, I had seen this place across the road called Micks Burgers. Ah well, given the lack of anything else that I could see and also given the lack of will to go really exploring around... I dropped in to see i this was going to be a decent place, or if I would end up regretting it in the morning!

The Space

There is very limited table seating in the indoor area... perhaps about 6 tables at most... and the decor is very... cheerful! When I had dropped by, there weren't any tables free, so I had to go for takeaway instead. Despite the lack of seating, it appears to be quite a popular place... with a good stream of regulars and drop in customers. Always a decent sign!

The Menu

Well.... there are a crazy amount of different burgers that you could choose from. However, most of it seems like a bit of an overkill to me... and I know myself and the sizes of servings in Australia. Most of them would likely be too big for me...

Plus... there is nothing more annoying than eating a burger that has too much insides for the buns to contain, and you end up spilling it all out everywhere!

The Food

... so, just a cheesburger combo for me. Served up with chips and a soft drink, it was still quite expensive at almost 20 dollars. Still, pretty much everything in Australia is sort of expensive these days!

... and how was it? WOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!... there are just so many terrible burgers out there that you are absolutely stunned when you get a really good one! Wagyu beef patty... cooked to perfection, nice and juicy... with crisp french fries. Everything was just right! Even the size, which might be small for some... but perfect for me! Plus, I always figure that the quality is better than the quantity when it comes to food!

The Experience

Micks Burgers seems to be a pretty small operation that does sometimes struggle with the demand flow of a large stream of customers.... but if you don't mind occasionally waiting a little bit, you will be in for a treat! Great burgers and food, and friendly staff... definitely a keeper for those who enjoy their food!
