Continuing timeout in Ubud / Fortsetzung unserer Auszeit in Ubud

November 2019 · 4 min read · Bali

After some relaxing days in Sidemen, a real gem among Bali travelers, we had another few days in and around Ubud. We started the engine of our scooter and drove to there in about 1.5 hours.

The Journey / Die Anreise

The drive to our Hotel was not as half as spectacular as the ride to Sidemen. But halfway to Ubud we came across a breathtaking Dam in Klungkung called Wisata kali Unda. I found that dam quite impressive and did not expect it on our way since the rest of the trip was pretty boring.

They even set up a big heart of flowers for wedding shooting.

Our Hotel / Unser Hotel

From the dam it was only another 30-45 minutes to our Hotel, the Kandarpa Ubud. We were searching quite a while for the right hotel since there are hundreds of hotels from cheap to luxury. We wanted something in between, luxury but cheap, you know. ;)

And we´re happy that we´ve found the right one.

The hotel had its opening only 5 month ago and we really liked the style as well as the location of it. Outside of the busy town and directly next to the rice fields. The room, the pool and the view from our balcony was amazing and the best was that the breakfast was included.

The surroundings / Die Umgebung

If you want to see the rice fields and the real local lifestyle you´ll need to leave the town of Ubud and explore the surroundings. But there is one little walk within the towncenter which is really nice with some good views, the Campuhan Ridge Walk.

Try do go there either in the early morning or late afternoon as it can get really hot. We did it in the late afternoon and it was still too hot.

Apart from that walk, the only things we did in Ubud was trying out new restaurants and of course exploring the small villages and temples around the towncenter.

We´ve been to Ubud a few times already and this is one of our most favorite activity there, driving around with the scooter in the late afternoon, exploring the region, find new temples and enjoy the view on the many rice fields.

Ubud is still a nice place to visit and one of Balis Hot Spots. I can only recommend to spend some days here.
