During the christmas holidays we´ve spent a whole morning exploring the Springbrook Nationalpark in the hinterland of Australias Gold Coast.
It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Gondwana Rainforests of Australia and is splitted into 4 sections.
Während der Weihnachtsferien haben wir einen ganzen Morgen damit verbracht, den Springbrook Nationalpark im Hinterland von Australiens Gold Coast zu erkunden.
Es ist Teil des UNESCO-Weltkulturerbes Gondwana Rainforests in Australien und ist in 4 Abschnitte unterteilt.
We haven´t been to every of these 4 sections which offer a wide range of walking tracks. There are walks for every one ranging from 300m walks to more than 50km walks.
We´ve actually only been to one of these sections called the Springbrook plateau. Our first stop was at the Purling Brook Falls circuit which is a relatively easy Grade 3 walk. If you walk it slowly it takes you around 2 hours to complete the walk.
Wir waren nicht in jedem dieser 4 Abschnitte, die ein breites Spektrum an Wanderwegen bieten. Es gibt Wanderwege von 300 m bis zu mehr als 50 km.
Wir waren eigentlich nur in einem dieser Abschnitte, dem Springbrook Plateau. Unser erster Stopp war auf dem Purling Brook Falls Circuit, welcher eine relativ einfache Grad 3-Wanderung ist. Wenn man langsam geht, braucht man ungefähr 2 Stunden für die Wanderung.
Since we went there before we had a bit of rain here, the Falls unfortunately were near dry and there was hardly any water running down.
But apart from that the views were absolutely amazing and due to the weather and the holidays there were not much people around. That´s always a big plus for me since I hate big crowds.
Da wir dorthin gefahren sind, bevor es hier etwas geregnet hat, waren die Wasserfälle leider fast trocken und es lief kaum Wasser ab.
Aber abgesehen davon war die Aussicht absolut fantastisch und aufgrund des Wetters und der Feiertage waren nicht viele Leute da. Das ist immer ein großes Plus für mich, da ich große Menschenmengen hasse.
There often is a lot of fog in the early morning and due to this fact we could not see that far. Anyway it has something mystical with that fog and we really enjoyed the view.
Am frühen Morgen ist oft viel Nebel und aufgrund dieser Tatsache konnten wir nicht so weit sehen. Jedenfalls hat es etwas Mystisches mit diesem Nebel und wir haben die Aussicht wirklich genossen.
After a short lunch break we went off to the next stop, the Twin Falls Circuit. The Springbrook Nationalpark is home to so many waterfalls that you can´t even see them all in one day.
Since we expected that there was also no water running down on this one we focused more on the other things on this walk.
Nach einer kurzen Mittagspause machten wir uns auf den Weg zur nächsten Station, dem Twin Falls Circuit. Der Springbrook Nationalpark beherbergt so viele Wasserfälle, dass man sie nicht mal alle an einem Tag sehen kann.
Da wir erwartet hatten, dass auch hier kein Wasser fließen würde, haben wir uns auf diesem Weg mehr auf die anderen Dinge konzentriert.
As expected, there was no water running down so we climbed on rocks on which you usually should not climb when there is water.
Wie erwartet lief kein Wasser runter, so dass wir auf Felsen kletterten, auf die man normalerweise nicht klettern sollte, wenn es Wasser gibt.
It was a bit disappointing without water running down the falls but it is still such a beautiful piece of nature.
Our next and last stop was the Best of all Lookout track. We had high expectations since you can see some really old and rare trees on this walk. Also, the name of the track suggests a good view. ;)
Es war ein bisschen enttäuschend, ohne dass Wasser die Wasserfälle hinunterlief, aber es ist trotz allem noch ein wunderschönes Stück Natur.
Unser nächster und letzter Stopp war der Best of all Lookout Track. Wir hatten hohe Erwartungen, da man auf dieser Strecke einige wirklich alte und seltene Bäume sehen kann. Auch der Name der Strecke lässt auf eine gute Aussicht schließen. ;)
Shortly before we reached the Lookout there were these gigantic arctic beech trees. These trees are believed to be over 2000 years old and they have been registered with the National Trusts of Australia - Register of Significant Trees.
It felt like stepping into another world.
Kurz bevor wir den Aussichtspunkt erreichten, befanden sich diese riesigen arktischen Buchen. Es wird angenommen, dass diese Bäume über 2000 Jahre alt sind und beim National Trusts of Australia (Register of Significant Trees) registriert wurden.
Es fühlte sich an, als würde man in eine andere Welt eintreten.
Since everything on this walk was pretty damp and there was a lot of moss on the trees we already had a feeling regarding the Lookout :)
When we arrived their a few minutes later the feeling was confirmed, we were in the middle of the clouds and barely could see our own hands.
Anyway, the trees were worth the walk and we highly recommend this Nationalpark to anyone else who is passing this absolutely amazing park.

Da alles auf diesem Weg ziemlich feucht war und viel Moos auf den Bäumen war, hatten wir bereits ein Gefühl in Bezug auf den Aussichtspunkt :)
Als wir einige Minuten später ankamen, bestätigte sich das Gefühl, wir befanden uns mitten in den Wolken und konnten kaum unsere eigenen Hände sehen.
Jedenfalls waren die Bäume einen Spaziergang wert und wir können diesen Nationalpark jedem empfehlen, der an diesem absolut fantastischen Park vorbeikommt.
