Fig Tree Walk and Little Yabba Creek

Fig Tree Walk and Little Yabba Creek

May 2019 · 3 min read · Queensland

Last sunday, when it finally stopped raining after more than a week non stop rain, we went off to the inland again and try to find some spots we haven´t been to so far.

We drove on the Tourist Drive 22 through a small village called Kenilworth to the Little Yabba Creek Park and the nearby Fig Tree Walk.

That little park at this beautiful creek was one of the coolest places we´ve seen in a while. The main reason why we really liked it is the fact that you´re allowed to stay there with your campervan/caravan for a maximum of 48 hours.

To find a spot like this next to such a beautiful creek is pretty hard. But luckily some towns are RV friendly.

Unfortunately we do not own a campervan what I really regret.

But the absolute highlight here and the reason why we came here are the fig trees. The walk starts on the other side of the creek and with only 1000m circuit isn´t really a long walk. But the massive fig trees we saw there was worth the drive.

You´ve to be careful because among these beautiful trees there are also some Giant Stinging Trees. The stinging hairs grow on the leaves and the branches and when stung the pain can last for days or even month.
