Every time I think we´ve discovered everything what is worth to visit here on the Sunshine Coast in Australia we find another gem. We´ve spent quite a lot of time here on the coast in the last years and I guess we do more day trips then locals do and still we were lucky enough to find a beautiful spot today.
Everything with the word Lookout in it is mostly worth a try and in most cases it pays off. That's how it led us to the Point Glorious Lookout today.
On the way up, when we were still at the foot of the mountain we already had a beautiful view over the green, lush grasslands.
Jedes Mal, wenn ich glaube, wir haben an der Sunshine Coast in Australien alles entdeckt, was einen Besuch wert ist, finden wir ein anderes Juwel. Wir haben in den letzten Jahren viel Zeit hier an der Küste verbracht, und ich denke, wir unternehmen mehr Tagesausflüge als Einheimische und hatten trotzdem das Glück, heute einen schönen Platz zu finden.
Alles mit dem Wort Lookout ist meistens einen Versuch wert und in den meisten Fällen lohnt es sich. So hat es uns heute an den Point Glorious Lookout geführt.
Auf dem Weg nach oben, als wir noch am Fuße des Berges waren, hatten wir bereits einen schönen Blick über die grünen Wiesen.
I knew that part of the road was going to be unpaved, unfortunately that happened way earlier than expected. We had to drive nearly 10km unpaved gravel roads and our shock absorbers are not the best anymore. :)
The ride uphill was pretty steep at some sections and at a certain point there was sign saying high clearance 4WD only. Since the road did not look that bad we gave it a try and made it without any problems.
Ich wusste, dass ein Teil der Straße unbefestigt sein würde, leider geschah dies früher als erwartet. Wir mussten fast 10 km unbefestigte Schotterstraßen fahren und unsere Stoßdämpfer sind nicht mehr die besten. :)
Die Fahrt bergauf war an einigen Abschnitten ziemlich steil und an einem bestimmten Punkt gab es Schilder mit der Aufschrift nur 4WD mit großer Bodenfreiheit. Da die Straße nicht so schlecht aussah, haben wir es probiert und es ohne Probleme geschafft.
Once you´re up there you will have a brilliant view. You can even see the ocean in the distance. When we were there you could see it raining in the distance and it looked absolutely beautiful.
There are 2 picknick tables where you can have your tea or coffee and enjoy the silence up there. Must be a great spot to spend the night in a campervan.
Furthermore there are some anchorpoints for abseiling. Must be fun with that view.
Wenn man oben ist, hat man eine fantastische Aussicht. Man kann sogar das Meer in der Ferne sehen. Als wir dort waren, konnte man es in der Ferne regnen sehen und es sah absolut wunderschön aus.
Es gibt 2 Picknicktische, an denen man seinen Tee oder Kaffee trinken und die Stille dort oben genießen kann. Muss ein großartiger Ort sein, um die Nacht in einem Wohnmobil zu verbringen.
Außerdem gibt es einige Ankerpunkte zum Abseilen. Muss mit dieser Aussicht Spaß machen.
