Roma Street Parklands is a garden oasis in the middle of Brisbane. A subtropical park landscape on 16 hectar with lots of places for a picknick, big trees and designer gardens. It is well know for it´s horticultural standards and a popular tourist destination.
Here we´ve seen flowers we´ve never seen before.
Roma Street Parklands ist eine Gartenoase mitten in Brisbane. Eine subtropische Parklandschaft auf 16 Hektar mit vielen Plätzen für ein Picknick, großen Bäumen und Designergärten. Es ist bekannt für seine gartenbaulichen Standards und ein beliebtes Touristenziel.
Hier haben wir Blumen gesehen, die wir noch nie zuvor gesehen haben.
We walked there from the CBD as it is only a 10 minute walk. We entered the Park on Wickham Terrace at the Entry Gate 5. After passing the gate we were in the middle of the Palm Tree Court, one of many sections in this park. Beautiful big trees which were giving us some cool shade on this pretty hot morning.
We were lucky enough to spot some wildlife directly at the beginning, a Bush Stone-Curlew. And Mahatma Gandhi was there as well.
Wir sind von der Innenstadt dorthin gelaufen, da es nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß ist. Wir betraten den Park auf der Wickham Terrace am Eingangstor 5. Nachdem wir das Tor passiert hatten, befanden wir uns mitten auf dem Palm Tree Court, einem von vielen Abschnitten in diesem Park. Wunderschöne große Bäume, die uns an diesem heißen Morgen etwas kühlen Schatten spendeten.
Wir hatten das Glück, gleich zu Beginn einige wild lebende Tiere zu beobachten, einen Langschwanztriele. Und Mahatma Gandhi war auch dabei.
From there we went a bit downhill, passed the Amphitheatre and went strait into the Spectacle Garden in Colin Campbell Place which is in the centre of the park and is kind of the main attraction.
This place is so colourful and full of flowers we haven´t seen before. On every corner there is a different fragrant and you actually don´t know where to look at.
We´ve spent quite some time in there taking so many photos of all these different plants.
Von dort gingen wir etwas bergab, kamen am Amphitheater vorbei und gingen direkt in den Spectacle Garden in Colin Campbell Place, der sich in der Mitte des Parks befindet und eine Art Hauptattraktion darstellt.
Dieser Ort ist so farbenfroh und voller Blumen, wie wir sie noch nie gesehen haben. An jeder Ecke duftet es anders und man weiß gar nicht so recht wo man als nächstes hinschauen soll.
Wir haben dort einige Zeit damit verbracht, jede Menge Fotos von all diesen verschiedenen Pflanzen zu machen.

Apart from all these tropical flowers there a lot of flowers we already knew. It was absolutely insane how many different kinds of flowers are growing there.
Abgesehen von all diesen tropischen Blumen gab es viele Blumen, die wir bereits kannten. Es war absolut verrückt, wie viele verschiedene Arten von Blumen dort wachsen.
Since the heat was insane that day and we did not want to do the whole park we took a shortcut and went up the hill again to The Lookout. From here we had a great view over most of the park and the lake in the middle.
Da die Hitze an diesem Tag wahnsinnig war und wir nicht den ganzen Park machen wollten, nahmen wir eine Abkürzung und gingen wieder den Hügel hinauf zu The Lookout. Von hier aus hatten wir einen großartigen Blick über den größten Teil des Parks und den See in der Mitte.
From here it was only a stone throw away from the Memorial Corner where you´ll find some war memorials. Since there is one from turkey we had to go there.
Von hier ist es nur ein Katzensprung bis zur Memorial Corner, wo man einige Kriegsdenkmäler findet. Da es auch eines von der Türkei gibt, mussten wir dort unbedingt hin gehen.
The last sections we visited were the *Fern Gully and the Rainforest. These were such beautiful parts of that park and we immediately felt like we were in a Nationalpark far north. Lots of palm trees, ferns, again some beautiful tropical flowers and of course the water dragons.
Die letzten Abschnitte, die wir besuchten, waren der Fern Gully und der Rainforest. Dies waren so schöne Teile dieses Parks und wir fühlten uns sofort wie in einem Nationalpark im hohen Norden. Viele Palmen, Farne, wieder einige wunderschöne tropische Blumen und natürlich die Wasserdrachen.
