Every time we got the chance, to escape the crowded city of Stuttgart, we use it.
On Saturday we went to the beautiful old town of Tuebingen which is directly on the Neckar. With the first University founded in 1477 Tuebingen is one of the oldest university cities in germany.
26.900 out of 88.347 residents are students, which makes the city also one of the youngest, in terms on population.
Jedes Mal, wenn wir die Chance hatten, der überfüllten Stadt Stuttgart zu entkommen, nutzen wir sie.
Am Samstag sind wir in die schöne Altstadt von Tübingen gefahren, die direkt am Neckar liegt. Mit der ersten 1477 gegründeten Universität gehört Tübingen zu den ältesten Universitätsstädten Deutschlands.

But before we arrived there, we passed a little village called Bebenhausen. It looked so beautiful that we decided to stop and have a quick look around the town and visit the monastery and the castle of the village.
Aber bevor wir dort ankamen, kamen wir an einem kleinen Dorf namens Bebenhausen vorbei. Es sah so schön aus, dass wir beschlossen, anzuhalten und uns in der Stadt umzusehen und das Kloster und die Burg des Dorfes zu besuchen.
It was a wonderful old castle and monastery. Usually I´m not to much interested in history but while walking along these old walls you automatically start to think about how the life was back then.
It is really impressive how much love to detail the people already had.
Es war eine wunderschöne alte Burg und ein Kloster. Normalerweise interessiere ich mich nicht all zu arg für Geschichte, aber während ich an diesen alten Mauern entlang laufe, beginnt man automatisch darüber nachzudenken, wie das Leben damals war.
Es ist wirklich beeindruckend wie viel liebe zum detail die Menschen damals schon hatten.
After a quick lunch at a beautiful Beergarden just outside of Tuebingen we than went into the city. Before we left the Beergarden we made an interesting encounter, a peacock was sitting on a car.
Nach einem schnellen Mittagessen in einem wunderschönen Biergarten vor Tübingen gingen wir dann in die Stadt. Bevor wir den Biergarten verließen, machten wir eine interessante Begegnung, ein Pfau saß auf einem Auto.
The city of Tuebingen is very crowded on a sunny weekend day like we had it. But it is still worth to visit.
We just strolled through the streets and enjoyed the old architecture and the nice little cafes. There was a farmers market just in front of the church and someone told us that the church tower is open for public.
Die Stadt Tübingen ist an einem sonnigen Wochenendtag wie wir ihn hatten sehr voll. Trotzdem ist es definitiv einen Besuch wert.
Wir schlenderten einfach durch die Straßen und genossen die alte Architektur und die netten kleinen Cafes. Es gab einen Bauernmarkt direkt vor der Kirche und jemand erzählte uns, dass der Kirchturm für die Öffentlichkeit zugänglich sei.
We went straight into the church. We payed a fee of 1 € to get to the stairs which led us to the top of the tower. From up there you got a beautiful view over the city and the Neckar.
Wir gingen direkt in die Kirche. Dort haben wir eine Gebühr von 1 € bezahlt, um auf die Treppe zu gelangen, welche uns auf die Spitze des Turms führte. Von dort oben hat man einen schönen Blick über die Stadt und den Neckar.
As we finally were done with all the historical sight seeing we went onto the neckarisland in the middle of the river and enjoyed the view. You can rent a gondola and cruise on the river if you like to.

We had enough and just wanted to relax.
Als wir mit der historischen Besichtigung fertig waren, gingen wir auf die Neckarinsel in der Mitte des Flusses und genossen die Aussicht. Man kann aber auch eine Gondel mieten und auf dem Fluss fahren wenn man möchte.
Wir hatten genug und wollten einfach nur entspannen.
