Jasper - the beginning of an adventure

May 2018 Β· 2 min read

Jasper! First step of our adventure. And what an adventure! A road trip across the Canadian and American West for 38 days πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ€©
To summarize, we left in August in Quebec City. We landed in Seattle because American car rental companies allowed us to go to Canada, but the opposite was not possible! Oh another important point: we had a passenger in my belly πŸ‘ΆπŸ» sometimes alter the schedule.

Jasper is located in the Canadian Rockies. The entrance to the park is quite high compared to the US border, it takes many hours of driving, but for a trip of this size we are ready for anything! Especially with country music πŸ˜‰
To describe this park: lakes, plains surrounded by high bare mountains. And as often in Canada, large spaces!

That day we hiked: Bald Hills. About 10 km. This hike allowed us to have a view of Maligne Lake, the famous lake surrounded by mountains with a small island in the middle ... To see this island you have to either take a boat or go for a long hike. We preferred to see other things rather than spend a lot of our money on this boat trip.

We preferred Medicine Lake to Maligne Lake. This lake is just before Maligne Lake. We found his color much more beautiful. Maybe it was due to cloudy weather ...!

These little slippers were our thread in the photo, to show our daughter everything she visited in my belly

In town we met elk! But really in the city! It must be known that there is absolute priority for animals. So we let them go quietly and it can last a certain time!

The next day we went down the glacier road. On the program: Mount Edith Cavell, Athabasca Falls, Athabasca Glacier.
But that's for a next post!
