Caracas: a cable car ride to Galipan!

Caracas: a cable car ride to Galipan!

October 2020 · 3 min read · Caracas

Caracas is and will always be my favorite city in the world. I will be able to visit all the capitals of the planet, but she is the irrevocable owner of my heart. I remember, ironically, that before I met her I was afraid of her. By then I said it was the last place I would live ... well, for a girl from a small town, a city as big and fast as this was too much!. And since the tongue is the punishment of the body, by chance of fate I ended up living there and to top it all I spent the best years and moments of my life there.

Ávila is the iconic hill of the city, the mountain that shelters the valley that is Caracas. Today I want to show you a little piece of this capital beauty and take you on a cable car to reach the small and cozy town of Galipán, that little dreamy corner that is hidden between the mountains.

This tour begins from the cable car system station located in the Maripérez area. We began to go up and marvel at the view of the city. Imposing!

from the cabin the other view is the green hill!!

Until the Humboldt hotel and our beautiful flag of Venezuela appear at the top

At the top is the Ávila Mágica or Warairarepano complex (as they called it lately) and it consists of the headquarters building of the cable car station and there is a walkway that connects the station with the Humboldt hotel, on the way there are several kiosks that we sell food, sweets and the delicious strawberries with cream. But beyond the establishments, being up there is beautiful, the weather changes completely, there is a lot of fog, and the gardens are super beautiful ... it is very nice and relaxing.

From the top we have a complete view, from the south side we see the entire Caracas valley

And from the north side we can see the Caribbean Sea, since on this side is the town of Macuto in La Guaira

The clouds do not allow us to see the sea hahaha but there it is supposed to be! XD

From this station we can take some 4x4 trucks that will take us to Galipan, a beautiful little town that is characterized by the cultivation of flowers and because it has very good restaurants and delicious food!

That small town between the clouds is Galipan

Galipan is a beautiful little town, you will not believe that you are so close to a metropolis ... it is the perfect escape from the fury of the city! It gives you the opportunity to breathe fresh air, and relax and rest a bit from the hustle and bustle typical of a capital.

This place was one of the ones I loved the most when I lived in the capital!

It is a place that should not be missing in your itinerary when you decide to visit Caracas !! <3
