Well, where do I begin...
After a few weeks away, we finally have some time to get back into posting about our adventures and also have an update on our film The Map to Paradise.
It's been a hectic last couple of months, trying to get the film ready for a private screening hosted by Prince Albert II of Monaco at the prestigious Musée océanographique de Monaco. It's crazy to think that after three years of pouring our heart and soul into this project, it's finally ready for the big screen.
Our time in Monaco flew by and we were overwhelmed by the support we received whilst we were there. Excitingly, the film was really well received and we got loads of positive feedback, so we are now working on our festival and outreach strategy and will hopefully have a release date in the not to distant future!
And some photos with Prince Albert II of Monaco, who is a proud supporter of our oceans and Giuseppe Notarbartolo di Sciara who is a well known ocean conservationist.
Prince Albert cares deeply about protecting our oceans and we were so fortunate to have his foundation, the Prince Albert 2 of Monaco Foundation, behind us during the production of this film.
Below is our new poster for the film, we hope you like it! Also, below the poster I have included a link to our new trailer, so check it out and let us know what you think.
So why the photos at the top??
Quite simply, this project has been enormous...
We travelled to all corners of the globe searching for stories that we felt were important to share with everyone. Stories of hope - from inspiring characters that will help to amplify the message of protecting our oceans.
While the whole production process has been a truly memorable and amazing experience, our minds have been focused on getting everything we need to create a beautiful and compelling film.
Thus, we needed a break.
So just before we set off to Monaco, we snapped up a great deal on a dive liveaboard and set off to the magnificent waters around Komodo National Park in Indonesia, home of the Komodo dragon. We did some fun dives and a bit of dive therapy (following James' dive accident the previous year, which he realised he had never dealt with).
It did not disappoint!
Then, following the private event in Monaco we just needed to get away from it all, so we swapped the ritzy streets of Monaco for a tent on the uninhabited paradise that is Lady Musgrave Island on the southern Great Barrier Reef.
The contrast between the two trips couldn't have been greater...
