Wednesdaywalk: Trees, light and shadows. Morning walk in the city park

May 2019 · 3 min read

This is my entry for the @tattoodjay's Wednesday walk challenge.

Today I continue to talk about my spring photo walks. This walk took place on April 18th.

Yes, I usually use family walks to take some photos. This time it happened the other way around. We came with the family to another city and I took my children to the planetarium. Only wife and children had enough free places in planetarium. And I went to the nearest park to take pictures while there is a session in the planetarium.

It was the first half of the day. The beginning of spring. Bright sun and bare trees in the park. Usually in this park is very crowded. But it was cool and no one walked in the shade of the park.

At first glance, the bare trees were not very photogenic, and the indiscriminate shadows from a multitude of trees brought chaos into the frame. The strong spread of the dynamic range from the brightly lit parts of the park and from the shadows spoiled the frames a little.

At first I thought that the photos taken on this walk would not be interesting. But after processing, I liked some shots.

As I said, there were a lot of trees in the park.

I wandered along the paths of the park, studied it and searched for interesting shots. I like to add street lights to the frame. They always decorate the photo.

And of course, I always pay attention to the benches. There were very interesting forged benches on some paths in this park. At a certain angle, benches also perfectly decorate the frame. Usually I have to take several shots in order to choose the most interesting perspective from them.

The park path does not look so interesting in the photo without benches.

But the cycle path with a number of lamps creates a perspective in the frame. To be true, a lot of random shadows located across the frame, breaks it.

Here, an interesting perspective turned out too. In general, it's great that now there are many places where dedicated cycling tracks began to appear.

As I said, we came to the local planetarium. And not far from it, I discovered an entertainment establishment, which outside had a decoration in the style associated with the conquest of space.

The time of my walk was over, I had to go for my wife and children. In front of a small platform in front of an entertainment venue a large tree grew, the shadow of which covered almost the entire spread. I tried to fit this tree in the frame along with its shadow. It's so much like my favorite reflections ...

My walk ended here. I hope that you were interested, despite the fact that I did not tell anything interesting about the park itself, but only tormented you with my reflections on the subject of photography ...

And if you were really interested, see you next Wednesday.
