Uzhhorod - Lisbon. Day 12. Slovenia

December 2019 · 2 min read · Murska Sobota

Woke up late, started to cycle late. The Skansen museum in Zalaegerszeg was closed (monday), unfortunately.

It was raining in the morning, had to hide and wait until it stops.

The road from Zalaegerszeg was pretty good. Bike path, then just quiet paved road through the villages. Almost all the buildings looks like "old traditional style". This area is called Orszag.

Near slovenian border there are some forests - not a usual hungarian landscape "fields everywhere". And heavy uphills.

Crossed the border close to the evening. Slovenia is my 31-st visited country, Hungary was 30-th.

Saw the old church from 14 century in Selo village. Outside, because it was also closed due to Monday. Even if open, I'm avoiding paid attractions because of travelling with ultra-small budget:).

"Selo" means "the village" in Ukrainian and Russian languages. So, for me it was funny - I visited Village village.

Camped in the forest. Btw, here it's forbidden:). When wild camping is illegal, the lifehack is:

- you have to find a place where nobody spots you

- cook your dinner, eat, relax - without putting a camping tent

- wait until darkness, then put your tent

- wake up early, pack your tent before cooking the breakfast

- bingo! now you can wild camp everywhere
