Can You Travel Mexico in 2020? A Day in the Yucatan

July 2020 · 3 min read · Yucatán

*This post has been selected by the Travelfeed Curation team. A great video about currently traveling in Mexico. Great work Gabriel!

Cancun, Mexico and the Yucatan peninsula, including Playa del Carmen, Isla Mujeres and Cozumel island opened up to tourism at the end of June 2020. Things aren't completely normal, but you can still have a nice time. The Mayan ruins aren't open yet, but there are other tours you can go on such as visiting the amazing cenotes I show in this video. And despite getting stopped by the police while walking on the beach and asked to leave, I would still recommend going if you're ready for a vacation. Just be prepared for a different kind of traveling experience including temperature checks to enter restaurants and malls, wearing masks and being one of the few tourists around. The beaches were open in Cancun and Cozumel island and perhaps Playa del Carmen will open the beaches to swimming later this summer.
