| The only thing that was not so nice was the state of the ways. With a bike it was OK, since you go rather slow. But most of the farmers there were using motorbikes, & not the offroad kind. Then again, it's better than pouring tons of concrete into the landscape & can give some nice pictures. | Nur der Zustand der Wege war nicht so toll. As you can see, even in rural Shaoguan it can get quite hazy. & that's not fog, & on that particular day there were also no (well, not many) fires to burn chaff. | At least in Southern China, it is quite common to built tombs & graves into hillsides. Perhaps that's to keep the ghosts happy or just away from the living, I forgot. So, when you're in the hills, you often come across tombs & graves, even whole (private) cemeteries. | Zumindest in Südchina ist es ziemlich normal, Grabstätten auf Hügeln zu errichten. | Mostly, you can only reach those via narrow foot paths. In this case I just found this one tomb above. It was probably from some medium wealthy peasant family. (Or they have understood by now, that it's no use wasting money on big lightshows, if your public services suck big time.)
