Bozz Travels: Las Vegas Wrapup

April 2019 · 5 min read

Over the past couple of weeks I have been entertaining you(or maybe boring you) with posts about the trip @mrsbozz and I took to Las Vegas, NV over Spring Break.

I promise you, this should be my last post on that topic. I went back and looked at all of our pictures from the trip and I have picked some gems that I hadn't yet shared.

I always pick a window seat when I can. I know some people don't like being near window, but I really enjoy looking out and seeing the landscape(when you can).

This was on our way to Detroit for our connecting flight. It's a fairly short hop(basically up and down), they don't even offer drink service because it is only 23 minutes.

This is on the ground in Detroit, it was a kind of gloomy day when we left, but luckily we had fantastic weather out in Nevada. The clouds gave way at just the right time over the middle of the country and I got these awesome shots:

One of the first things we did once we got situated in our hotel was walk down to the Stratosphere so we could find a place to watch the Michigan State NCAA tournament basketball game.

Remembering the #lookingup challenge that @tattoodjay participates in frequently, I made sure to take these shots. I am not sure how accurate it is, but one of our Uber drivers told us that the Stratosphere tower is the tallest building in the US West of the Mississippi river. Feel free to fact check that at your leisure :)

The Friday night that we flew in, @mrsbozz and I had gotten tickets for a show. We wanted to see an artist perform, but all of the good ones like James Taylor, Queen, and Lady Gaga had shows either right before or right after we left. Instead we decided to see a Cirque show that we had heard good things about at The Wynn.

It was a fantastic show. Having never been to one before, I was quite overwhelmed. There were so many things going on in so many different places, I had no clue where to focus my attention. The performers did an amazing job and there were some feats that we could only shake our heads and marvel at. Like I said, it was a fantastic show!

The Wynn is actually a really beautiful casino and we probably would have spent more time here if the table limits weren't so high!

That last shot is probably one of my favorite pictures from the trip!

This is another #lookingup shot I took of the Palazzo after we left the Wynn. We ended up spending the rest of that night at the Mirage until we headed back to our hotel.

This was the view from our hotel room.

The next day we spent some time around the pool working on our tans...

Okay, not really, @mrsbozz and I are pretty fair skinned, so we have to put SPF 60 on just to keep from getting burned. That usually means we don't get too much of a tan.

This is a shot of our hotel from the outside as we were walking back to it one time. The Hilton Grand Vacations Resort on the Las Vegas strip is really quite nice if you don't mind the fact that it doesn't have a casino inside of it.

And another couple of #lookingup pictures. This one is our hotel again and the one below is just outside the Fashion Show Mall down by Treasure Island.

Saturday night we did some more meandering through the town...

I took this picture because the heart on the CVS sign reminded me of the @dlike logo.

Casino Royale is kind of a dump of a casino, but my first time visiting Vegas we spent a lot of time there. Because of that it holds a special place in my heart. The table games are pretty cheap there too...

Our last day in Vegas after we ate at Black Bear Diner(see my old posts), we had our Uber driver take us down to The Orlean's. Since it is off the strip, the prices are cheaper and we were surprised when we realized just how big it is.

We spent the second half of our morning drinking Corona's and playing Keno there. I was pretending to be a high roller!

Finally, I am going to leave you with some more shots I took from the plane. The one at the beginning of this post was from LAS airport as we were leaving on Tuesday afternoon.

In the first ones here you can see Lake Mead.
