Am Sonntag Abend sind wir in Kaoshiung am THSR Bahnhof angekommen. Mit der MRT (U-Bahn) ging es weiter in Richtung Zentrum zur Station Formosa Boulevard, die eine Sehenswürdigkeit für sich ist.
On Sunday evening we arrived in Kaoshiung at the THSR station. With the MRT (subway) we continued towards the center to the station Formosa Boulevard, which is a sight in itself.
Da wir schon einen ereignisreichen Tag in Taichung hinter uns hatten, verbrachten wir einen gemütlichen Abend im Hotel.
Since we already had an eventful day in Taichung behind us, we spent a cosy evening in the hotel.
Den Tag darauf erkundeten wir Teile des Hafens von Kaoshiung. Es war interessant zu beobachten, wie eine Fähre die wartenden Mopedfahrer auflud, um sie auf die nahegelegene Insel Qijin zu bringen.
The following day we explored parts of the harbour of Kaoshiung. It was interesting to watch a ferry picking up the waiting moped drivers to take them to the nearby island of Qijin.
Am nächsten Morgen machten wir uns auf zum Lotus See. Dort verbrachten wir fast den ganzen Tag inmitten vieler unterschiedlicher Tempelanlagen. Ein idealer Ort zum Entspannen mit äußerst lohnenden Fotomotiven. Auch einige Videos haben wir dort gedreht.
The next morning we set off for Lotus Lake. There we spent almost the whole day in the middle of many different temples. An ideal place to relax with extremely rewarding photo motives. We also shot some videos there.
Als es dunkel wurde, kehrten wir in unser Hotel zurück, wo uns später unser Freund Patrick besuchte, mit dem wir einen anregenden Abend verbrachen.
When it got dark, we returned to our hotel, where our friend Patrick later visited us, with whom we spent a nice evening.
Vor unserem Besuch in Singapur verbrachen wir noch einen Tag in Taipei. Dort besuchten wir das Chiang Kai-shek Memorial und konnten auch einen kurzen Blick auf die Wachablöse erhaschen.
Before our visit in Singapore we spent one more day in Taipei. There we visited the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial and could also catch a glimpse of the changing of the guard.

Der Flug nach Singapur war selbst für eine Budget-Airline ziemlich unerfreulich. So wurde für 250 ml Wasser umgerechnet ca. 3 € verlangt.
The flight to Singapore was quite unpleasant even for a budget airline. They charged us 3 € for just a 250 ml bottle of water.
Unser Hotel lag im lebhaften, authentischen Little India. Am späten Abend machten wir noch einen Spaziergang zu Marina Bay Sands.
Our hotel was located in the lively, authentic Little India. In the late evening we went for a walk to Marina Bay Sands.
Natürlich wollten wir uns diese moderne Skyline auch bei Tageslicht nicht entgehen lassen.
Of course we didn't want to miss this modern skyline even in daylight.

Später am Abend trafen wir noch ein befreundetes Paar zum Abendessen. Es war sehr interessant, von Einheimischen einiges über das Leben in Singapur zu erfahren.
Later in the evening we met a couple of friends for dinner. It was very interesting to learn a lot about life in Singapore from the locals.
Leider fingen @vieanna und ich uns eine starke Erkältung aufgrund der hohen Temperaturschwankungen ein und somit fielen dann leider auch der geplante Trip nach Kuala Lumpur sowie weitere örtliche Besichtigungen ins Wasser.
Unfortunately @vieanna and I caught a strong cold due to the high temperature fluctuations and so unfortunately the planned trip to Kuala Lumpur and other local visits fell into the water.
Letzten Endes stand uns noch eine mehr als 30-stündige Heimreise bevor, die wir zum Glück gut überstanden haben.
In the end we still had a more than 30-hour journey home to make, which we fortunately survived well.
Ich bin sehr dankbar für die vielen Erlebnisse und Erfahrungen während der letzten drei Wochen. Besonders gefreut hat mich, dass ich all meine alten Freunde wieder getroffen habe, die sich viel Zeit und Mühe gemacht haben, uns ihr schönes Land näher zu bringen.
I am very grateful for the many experiences I have had during the last three weeks. I was especially happy to meet all my old friends again, who took a lot of time and effort to bring their beautiful country closer to us.
