We are in limbo, we have to plan, or rather said we want to plan a holiday but the covid rules and regulations thats a hard task. Ofcourse we can dream and plan, but will we go that is the big question!

Can you now book a holiday with decency? If I have to believe all the advertisements from the travel companies, I certainly do. In the Netherlands, traveling abroad is prohibited until the end of March, so a summer vacation should work. That is one of the reasons that people do not dare to book yet, but when I look at the travel sites, I see many guarantees, such as the money back in case of a negative travel advice, and guaranteed return (for a flight or rental car holiday) to the Netherlands within certain period of time. Also when the situation changes when we are at the destination and the covid situation changes. So no risks, do you? I also deal with the care of our dogs and the house sitter. they have included cancellation costs.

The popular countries for a holiday here now are the Netherlands Antilles such as, Curaçao, Bonaire and Aruba. But I also belong to my friends in Turkey and Spain. In any case, we want to go to my parents in Italy and spend our vacation there, and a road trip before or after. We have adapted and expanded our travel insurance now online. We also have our doubts about the air travel, we are under 50 and in (very) good health so we have to wait months for the covid vaccination, and if you have to be vaccinated for air travel, that will pass for us because with the Dutch speed of vaccination it will be our turn in October, so that is much too late.

So the plan is to travel to Torino by car of plane, than go to Piemonte, and further the roadtrip to Tuscany.

We want to go and visit some wine houses and truffle farms. The topic of the trip will be explore, eat, drink & repeat.

After that we want to go to lake Garda and stay there with my parents. Please not let it be a dream, covid, you have to go on an extended vacation, you have bothered us long enough.

También tenemos nuestras dudas sobre los viajes aéreos, somos menores de 50 años y en (muy) buen estado de salud por lo que tenemos que esperar meses para la vacunación de covid, y si hay que vacunarse para viajar en avión, eso pasará por nosotros porque con la velocidad holandesa de la vacunación será nuestro turno en octubre, por lo que es demasiado tarde.
Así que el plan es viajar a Turín en coche o avión, luego ir a Piemonte y continuar el viaje por carretera a Toscana.
Queremos ir a visitar algunas bodegas y granjas de trufas. El tema del viaje será explorar, comer, beber y repetir.
Después de eso, queremos ir al lago de Garda y quedarnos allí con mis padres. Por favor, no dejes que sea un sueño, covid, tienes que irte de vacaciones prolongadas, ya nos has molestado bastante.
