River of Life @ Kuala Lumpur 吉隆坡生命之河

Hello dear Steemians,

I think most of you especially who staying and working in Kuala Lumpur would hear about this River of Life. If you visited KL city centre near Dataran Merdeka few years ago, you might passed by the dirty and disgusted intersection Klang River and Gombak River. Currently it’s converted to elegant waterway through river cleaning and beautification.

I been there with @auleo last month and he wrote about this place before. But today I would like to share with you my feeling after visited KL River of Life.

大家好!

我想你们，尤其是居住在吉隆坡的人都听过这生命着河。如果几年前你到访过吉隆坡市中心Dataran Merdeka附近，你可能会经过肮脏和恶心的巴生河和鹅麦河的交叉口。目前，它已经通过河流清洁和美化转变为一条优雅的水道。

上个月我和@auleo一起去了这个地方，回来后@auleo也写过关于这个地方的文章。但是今天我想和大家分享我到访吉隆坡生命之河后的观后感。

The project is done by one of my friend who working as Chief Landscape Architect and her team in AECOM landscape consultancy. Based on my friend, it is been taken 7 years to completed this urban transformation project from design and planning to site implementation.

该项目是由我的一位朋友在AECOM景观公司担任首席景观设计师和她的团队一起完成的。根据我的朋友，从设计和规划到建设，需要7年的时间。

The landscape consultancy design objective is consisted by 3 components which’s river cleaning, river beautification and development.

景观设计的概念有三个目标：一是河道清理；二是河流美化；三是河道开发和发展。

We can see walkways, waterway along the river have been converted as recreational and liveable areas. Some of the existing big trees such as Samanea saman are remained and pruned.

我们可以看到人行道，沿河的水道已被改造成休闲和宜居的区域。一些现存的大树，如 Samanea saman 仍然被保留和修剪。

The long shape fish pond was built along the waterway. We can see the difference of cleanliness of water between fish pond and waterway. I feel it is bringing the awareness of taking care the cleanliness of river and do not pollute our river.

沿着水道建造了一个长形的鱼池。我们可以看到鱼池和水道之间水的清洁度的差别。我觉得这意味着要我们保持河水干净，不要污染河流。

The water shooting from both sided of river are going on every night. It makes the river vibrant and elegant. But we feel the water is not yet to be cleaned properly as we still can get the bad smell when the water shooting was going on.

每天晚上，河道两边有喷泉效果，让这条河流充满了活力和优雅。但可惜之处，我们还是会闻到少少的河水被污染的味道。可见河水还是没有得到很好的净化，希望大家和有关当局合作，一起为河水清洁而出分力，不再污染河流。

I personally feel the softscape design is not been emphasised. The planting design is lacking to be featured, maybe because of cost saving of the project?

我个人觉得软体设计没有得到很好的设计，缺乏特色，可能是因为项目要减少成本？

With this such big open area, the big canopy and spreading type of tree should be proposed to provide shade to the park users. The park users will be more enjoyable in shady condition especially in hot day. This Caesalpinia ferrea tree leaves are too small, not bushy enough in terms of the tree crown and canopy which’s not able to provide full shade for the park users.

在这样如此大的开放区域，应该要建议种植大树来遮荫。公园使用者在阴凉的环境中会更加愉快，特别是在炎热的天气下。这种 Caesalpinia ferrea 树也太小，也不够浓密，不能为公园使用者提供很好的遮荫。

The night view of the river is vivacious and lively with proposed landscape lights and water feature.

生命之河的夜景是非常美丽的。蓝色的景观灯配上喷雾犹如仙境般的朦胧美。

We really enjoyed to watch the water shooting and water mist on the bridge. The new waterway bring out sense of urban modernisation and innovation to the city.

我们非常喜欢在桥上观看这蓝色水喷雾。这新的水道为吉隆坡带来了城市现代化和创新的感觉。

Sometimes, there are some live rock band concert are held around the waterway landscape, and we can see the artist are working on portrait sketches.
