Relax time in historical center of Giovinazzo

Giovinazzo is a city that rises on the splendid Adriatic Sea and, like all seaside cities, enjoys an incredibly fascinating coast and source of tourism especially in the summer months. Walking in the historic center, a stone's throw from the sea, the scent of the salt and the sound of the waves are the soundtrack of our walk in the city. The characteristic of the city is the presence of several tree-lined squares, meeting places for friends and families, where especially the elderly spend a large part of the day in long group chats.

Giovinazzo è una città che sorge sul splendido mare Adriatico e come tutte le città marinare gode di una litoranea incredibilmente affascinante e fonte di turismo soprattutto nei mesi estivi. Passeggiando nel centro storico, a due passi dal mare, il profumo della salsedine ed il rumore delle onde sono la colonna sonora della nostra passeggiata in città. La caratteristica della città è la presenza di diverse piazze alberate, luoghi d'incontri per amici e famiglie, in cui soprattutto gli anziani trascorrono gran parte della giornata in lunghe chiacchierate di comitiva.

Among these squares, the municipal villa is certainly the most structured to welcome children, as it is equipped with an area dedicated to them with carousels, swings and various entertainment. The villa has a well lit fountain in the center of the pizza and is a point of reference for all those who are present in the park. A bar at the entrance of the villa welcomes the many kids with tasty sweets and ice cream. Despite the not hot climate, many children are attracted to a nice ice cream cone 😊.

Tra queste piazze, la villa comunale è sicuramente la più strutturata ad accogliere anche i bambini, in quanto è fornito di un'area dedicata a loro con giostrine, altalene ed intrattenimenti vari. La villa ha una fontana al centro della pizza molto illuminata ed è un punto di riferimento per tutti coloro che sono presenti nel parco. Un bar all'ingresso della villa accoglie i tanti ragazzi con gustosi dolci e gelati. Nonostante il clima non caldo, sono molti i bambini attratti da un bel cono gelato 😊.

The historic center of the city really is: the streets are illuminated by a light, sometimes colorful light, which highlights various features such as some particular balconies, streets with arches, windows and small villages. The relaxing silence is accompanied by the sound of the wind and the sea, located a few meters away. The area is totally closed to car traffic and this highlights the scent of the kitchen of the ladies who live in the buildings and who prepare dinner for their family.

Il centro storico della città è davvero: le vie sono illuminate da una luce leggera, a volte colorata, la quale mette in evidenza diverse caratteristiche come alcuni balconi particolari, strade con archi, finestre e piccoli borghi. Il silenzio rilassante è accompagnato dal rumore del vento e del mare, situato a pochi metri di distanza. La zona è totalmente chiusa al traffico delle auto e ciò risalta il profumo della cucina delle signore che abitano negli edifici e che preparano la cena per la propria famiglia.

The Cathedral of the Cathedral is truly enchanting in its mighty splendor. The churches are beautifully preserved, recently renovated like the Church of Sant'Agostino, the largest of the churches we have visited: the dome is over 50 meters high and from the outside it reminded me a little of that of San Pietro in Rome. A refined blue color characterizes some internal decorations, enhancing the elegance and the absolute sense of peace, and placing the attention on different sculptural works and magnificent paintings.

Il Duomo della Cattedrale è davvero incantevole nel suo possente splendore. Le chiese sono magnificamente conservate, ristrutturate di recente come la Chiesa di Sant'Agostino, la più grande delle chiese che abbiamo visitato: la cupola è alta oltre 50 metri e dall'esterno mi ha ricordato un po' quella di San Pietro di Roma. Un raffinato colore blu caratterizza alcune decorazioni interne, esaltando l'eleganza e l'assoluto senso di pace, e ponendo l'attenzione su diverse opere scultoree e quadri magnifici.

The city is not very large but it is welcoming and conveys a sense of tranquility. The people are very nice and the local food is really delicious. Truly a relaxing day!

La città non è molto grande ma è accogliente e trasmette un senso di tranquillità. La gente è molto gentile ed il cibo locale è davvero squisito. Davvero una giornata rilassante!
