Malacca visit (1)

Here, take a look at the cover photo of my post, why would I pick this unattractive picture as my cover? I'm just trying to tell you, I'm not ordinary travel blogger. I'm a freaking localized travel blogger. If you wanted to experience local stuff, this is where you find all the cheap skate information about visiting around Malaysia! The thumbnail view is the significant of going into Malacca town via Ayer Keroh, you'll have to get pass this steel factory. I remember this since my first time coming into this place! Remember it, because the side road beside this huge steel factory is going to save you tons of time from heavy traffic when you use your GPS.

On the way going into Melaka, at Ayer Keroh there's several theme park around here. I know some people will ask me why not go to A-Famosa, dude that one is way out of town at the Alor Gajah. Trust me, Alor Gajah is only 15 minutes away from town. Which is why we decided to come to this place for the next day activity.

After we got the ticket for next day visit, we decided to checkout one of the nearby restaurant, but that shop were not in business that evening.

Due to hunger kicked in, we let Google be our tour guide and finally ended up visiting a place we totally not planned for. To our surprise, the food is seriously good. I have a #tasteem post did a restaurant review for them. If you don't mind, you can follow this post to read about the restaurant review.

Gula Melaka Cendol
Gula Melaka Cendol

What is one of the most significant dessert in Malacca, this is it, a Cendol. It has red bean, Pandandus being noodelize(sorry ran out of word, they made it like pieces of green noodle.) Topped it with shaved ice, and following by coconut extract and coconut caramel, this thing will do two things to your bran. Either brand freeze or mind bending.

After dinner, finally we get to Gloria Swiss Apartment. Which is around 1.5km from the Theme Park! I did not take photo of the apartment, since the whole family is in, and we make a mess of it by the time we arrived. So no point put a bad image on them. I'm not doing a hotel review, but the building really need an extra elevator to ease the traffic. Other than that, the apartment is clean, the building is quite new, and there's Old Town White Coffee at the ground floor. Parking is widely available everywhere around the building, so it was alright. To me, a RM400 for 4 days 3 night is already a good deal. Junior is having a good time drawing on his sketch book. The kids have a sofa bed at the outside, so they'll be alright.

Subway breakfast at Mydin Ayer Keroh

The next day, after we had a havoc time(1 bath room apartment, what do you expect?) rushing to the toilet and brush up, finally we got to the nearby MYDIN hypermarket for a Subway breakfast! You're probably saying, Dave why would you eat fast food for breakfast whilst travelling? My answer to that is, because it's freaking convenient, and quality shouldn't go too far. Especially when you travel with kids, you just gotta think about what suits them or you're going to ended up in hell because you're the only one wanted a spicy noodle soup early in the morning, whilst the kids will show you a long face, and you'll be eating in a lots of gas. Moreover, it's just a breakfast and we decided to fuel us up and crash into the theme park, because we only bought the single entry pass, we can't possibly go out of the compound and we certainly know the food provided inside the theme park is not going to be nice and guaranteed pricey. So yeah, that will do the magic.

And for more than 20 years I haven't really soaking in water for more than 5 hours. The last I remembered, that was like 1991 when I was still a kid, went to Subnway Lagoon with my friends and soaking in for a wholeday. And now, with my own kids, the feeling is totally different. So many things to worry, so many things to take care of, and gotta have someone to stay behind to take care of the phones. I know we can buy the swimming pouch, but that never came to my mind. What can I say, I'm getting old and I just doesn't admit it. Fortunately, the

Fortunately, the day has been pretty good for me so far. It's quite cloudy since morning, despite that, the temperature is still 34'C no joke. We're having enough fun there and so much of gliding and also riding the float for vortex experience. Well, what can I say? For RM126, entrance fee for the family of four, two adults and two kids, this is consider one of the best, most affordable, and having enough facilities water park. Kids are happy with it, and I didn't complain it.

Why do every good time must end? Time fly like an arrow, fruit fly like a banana. It's time to get out of here before it rains. It's just way too cloudy and we're worried. Seriously, it's no joke when it rain and you don't wanna be at an open area, especially in a pool. So we left the place and headed back to the apartment. Half way there, the big kid already knocked out in the car. Is that tiring!

Due to rain, we took a short rest in the apartment, watch TV. Didn't have time to even take a short nap, as everybody is rushing to take a shower due to the sun burn. And before we realized how painful the sun burns are, our stomach already started growling. Off we headed to the big three element for dinner. If you are interested to know more about this restaurant, I have restaurant review about this shop. If you're keen to find out why the different name of the restaurant, you can read more here.

After dinner, immediately we check with Google, where is the nearest Mille Crepe. I don't know why, Malacca is one of the place made crazily good Mille Crepe. I have a post regarding the restaurant that has everything wrong, but in a good way. The coffee Latte is a freaking good Cappuccino. The Tiramisu has nothing similar to a Tiramisu, but a freaking good Mocha cheese cake! The milk shake that tasted more like ice cream than a milk shake. The the shop named after Second Floor, is located at the Ground floor. To top that, it has a mezzanine and not even on first floor yet. Regardless of all that wrong they make, but all that mistakes are probably done on purpose? Everything is good, in a different way. Read it here.
