With just days until Halloween and the sun shining after a week of rain, today was perfect for one glorious activity...
Visiting a pumpkin patch and corn maze! 🎃 🌽
We hopped in the car and drove about 35 minutes northeast. Our destination was Craven Farm . The farm is located in an agricultural area just outside of Snohomish, WA. Today was “Pooch Day in the Patch”.
We have two dachshunds and are always looking for puppy adventures. This was right up our alley. Plus, family recently moved to the Seattle area from Perth, Australia. THEY HAD NEVER BEEN TO A PUMPKIN PATCH AND CORN MAZE!!! That is... until today. 😃
If you look closely at the map above, you will see Craven Farm has heaps of activities! Here is a small sampling:
- Kid’s maze
- 15 acre corn maze
- Hay rides
- Apple sling shot
- Apple Cannon
- Mini Golf
- Human Foosball
- Farm animals
- Fire pits
- Pumpkin Patch
We decided our first adventure at the farm would be the 15 acre corn maze. So, we trudged through the mud to the maze’s entrance. The dogs were loving the adventure! The humans were wishing we had worn more suitable shoes.
The maze oddly had an Alice in Wonderland theme. Every once in awhile we would get to open areas within the maze that each featured a different character from the story. The nice thing about this is new characters meant you were making progress on escape from the maze!
Getting out of the maze took forever. Several of the paths were covered in ankle deep mud. I almost lost a shoe twice! However, spirits were high.
After getting out of the maze everyone was hungry. Fortunately, the farm had several meal options. I got a hotdog and the most delicious pumpkin cupcake with cream cheese frosting. 🤤 They also served soup in bread bowls, kettle corn, chili, pulled pork sandwiches and pumpkin pie!
After food, we stopped past the apple sling shots. For $5 you were given a bucket of 12 apples. The Aussie relatives got THREE buckets!
Following the apples, the family split up for a bit. Half the Aussies hopped on the tractor hay ride and two teens hit up the mini golf. Myself, my hubs and the dachshunds wandered towards the pumpkins.
Craven Farm sells 50 different varieties of pumpkins! We saw pumpkins and gourds of all shapes and sizes. Even our weenie dogs closely examined the options.
After 3.5 hours at the farm it was time to say our goodbyes. We farewelled the fam, farewelled the farm and farewelled the mud. (Well, a lot of mud came home with us! 🤣😂🤣)
It had been a stunning day. The sun was shining. The sky was a deep blue. Snow covered mountains could be seen in the distance and the colors of autumn leaves in the midst of it all were perfect.
