Some trips makes great memories just because of the tiny experiences, great company and unexpected meetings. Visiting Mandalpatti in a tourist point of view was not successful but the memories that I have from the trip are so precious. The disrupted landscape in Kodagu was a huge warning to take care of the nature. Going through the trauma of loosing the efforts of a lifetime is hard to understand but travelling through those roads will give you the sense of danger the people might have faced during the time of flood.
We spent almost an hour in their house listening to everything they had to share. Leaving that place we were actually scared of their safety. The house is situated at the edge of the land that was taken by the river in the flood. Coming back through those roads there was a huge urge to end every act that'll lead to pollute the nature.
There were so many thoughts that kept going in mind to make a green living. But the harsh reality is finding alternatives is not that easy and not available. I felt so bad for using a plastic straw to drink from a coconut that night but the truth is there was nothing else available to replace it that time. I strongly believe every tiny act matters and I hope 2019 be that year of change.
Anyway, it was the last day in Madikeri and we were leaving to Mysore the next day. It took a long walk to find a shop that sold winter clothes.
