Enjoyed a lot with friends at 'cafe 24' tourist spot

Café 24

At first sight, you can think that CAFÉ 24 is a restaurant but this is not so. This is a beautiful picnic spot in Chittagong. This picnic spot is formed and controlled by Bangladesh Army. Its one of the most attractive tourist spots not only in Chittagong but also in Bangladesh. Tourists can take it as a large park as well.

Some information about the Park

The specialty of the park is it is normally open for all with some entry fee. As its Army people operated its highly secured picnic and tourist spot. Its just beside the only Military Academy of Bangladesh that is Bhatyari of Chittagong (Currently Chattogram). There is a golf club and sunset point beside the park. A huge number of tourists come to the sunset point regularly. As the park is near the sunset point, those tourists try to visit to that park as well. Bhatyari is hilly area of Chittagong and the Military Academy is located here in the hilly part of the city. For this reason, the surrounding area of the park is hilly and charming. The road of going to the park is highly secured having couple of check post and well decorated.

This park is decorated with several culture of the Chittagong city. The culture of the indigenous people like their home making style and life leading style has been decorated here. By visiting the park anyone can have the real experience of watching the culture of different indigenous people of the Hill Track Districts (Rangamati, Khagracharri, Bandarban) of Chittagong. At one side of the park, you will find the houses and cultures with some explanation. I was astonished that the housed have been made here in the park just exactly the houses of the tribe and indigenous people. It showing the culture of Chittagong area nicely.

In middle part, you can see some natural beauty of the park. Middle part is nicely designed with some trees and natural elements like shower, pond, trees, flowers etc. Beside that area there are some big screens of drawing. This drawing are the pictures of the beautiful places of Bandarban, Rangamati and Khagracharri. The board is set in such a way that, if you capture photos in front of that board by maintaining the distance specified by them then it will look like you are in that place. The name of those boards is like “Travelling Sajek Valley by Photo”. It was really interesting to me. They have specified the camera and object measurement. We have captured some single photos with that measurement, and finally it is very difficult say that weather that person went there or not. It’s a real life editing I must say. Someone may use the photos of different places in the background with the editing software’s but here by capturing photos in front of the board is enough. It’s just giving the tourists the feel like they travelled there or encouraging to travel those beautiful tourist spots in Chittagong.

At the corner of the park, there are some exhibition of different weapons of Bangladesh Army used in several times including the weapons of liberation war. Some of the weapons are real, some are replica and some are duplicate. Tourists can have mixed experience with this weapon visit.

My Experience:

It was three days visit to different tourists’ spots in Chittagong with some friends and juniors. In the afternoon of the final day, we decided to travel on there. As in the morning, most of us has visited the sea beach and we were tired actually. It was the last spot to visit on from that 3 days tour. Most of us were tired but we were eager to visit there.

After reaching to the gate but our hired car, took the entrance ticket. First of all we have visited the indigenous people’s house which was made in such a way the tribe or indigenous people of specific group do. We were surprised and again surprised by studying their lives from there. There were some tools which is used by different tribes. Their cultured have been promoted nicely here I should say.

Then, moved to the natural area and captured some photographs. Finally, to the exhibition area and then get back after travelling about one and half hour in the park. It was a enjoyable tour for all of us. This was not the last visiting place rather the best memorable place for us. As I mentioned about the spot from my travelling experience earlier so here I am not writing details about our time passing. You can see some photographs below---

Thanks all.
