I think it’s already by preview you know that it’s not a city in East Asia, but a garage cooperative in North-West Russia. In each city there are places where there are private metal garages. In Veliky Ustyug, one of these garage cooperatives occupies a whole block on the outskirts of the city in the Hill district.
They call this place "Shanghai" because there are so many different garages, there are entire streets, alleys and you can even get lost.
In Soviet times, when people had more motorcycles with wheelchairs than cars, such garage clusters began to develop.
Even street lighting was once established here.
Now most of the garages are abandoned.
Some of them are simply locked, and there are completely open and broken ones.
The garage here is to crack a couple of trivia: at night there is no one, near the cemetery and the industrial zone.
You can at least openly file a castle with a grinder - there are no residential buildings nearby, and passersby do not go to such places at night.
Nevertheless, there are still garages in operation, but they are all close to the road and closer to the lanterns.
The rest can be used as sheds for unnecessary trash.
A whole block of area is simply a pile of unnecessary scrap metal. It seems to me that the authorities will soon think about the irrational use of land and will demolish this garbage. For this, in fact, I came to capture this place, which may soon disappear from the map of the city.

But here passed an entire era. Garage romance: skewers for the May holidays, motorcycle repair, changing the oil at the car or repairing the suspension, drinking and sitting in the garage with friends, stealing the parent car.
Now all the cars stand in the courtyards, and in such garages very few people put their cars.
In some places, there is not even a trail, which means that the whole street with garages is simply not used. This is more than two dozen garages!
The Russian Orthodox Church has already claimed this place, but as long as some people still own the private land, then there is nothing to be done.
I am glad that there is one pass-through passage that leads to the central gate of the city cemetery.
