The New Village

June 2019 · 2 min read

New Village is a village in the Veliky Ustyug district of the Vologda region, part of the Krasavinsky rural settlement. Located New Village on a high hill near the city of Krasavino. There are many permanent residents in the village.

New Village is not much different from the usual streets of the city Krasavino, as all Krasavino mainly consists of the private sector, located on a hilly area.

Therefore, for me, these narrow streets and such landscapes are quite familiar and pleasant.

The facades of all the houses face the Northern Dvina in the direction of the floodplain.

At the edge of the hill, according to the Krasavino's tradition, tall spruces grow. Among the houses I met only one five-wall house, but that small size. The Village of New Village is not so old.

On the edge of the cliff lies a large old stone. Locals consider it the main attraction.

It's hard to see inscriptions on the stone.

If you go a little lower, you can find an overgrown abandoned spring. Previously, in it took water, washed clothes, and now all the wells in the houses and this well was no longer needed.

Somewhere down there are three more villages.

In the New Village, one of the main problems is the bad road to the village. If you come here in dry weather, and then get under good rain, then it will be difficult to go. On the road, solid clay.

I have long wanted to visit here and have never regret that I had visited this amazing place!
