Thanks to our month-long house sit in Brookland, we got to know this interesting DC neighborhood pretty well. It's only a few Metro stops away from all the city center sights.
We like the sense of community, the unique architecture, and the few bars and restaurants not too far from the house. But there was also a sense of over gentrification, and we heard some interesting (rather scary) crime stories from our neighbors. We didn't notice anything while we were there, but yes, it is an interesting place to live in Washington. We really loved our time in Brookland.
