Corpus Christi in Valencia - Day Parades of 2019 / Let the Moma Dance!

November 2021 · 1 min read · Valencia

The Corpus Christi celebrations of 2020 and 2021 have been cancelled for obvious reasons. But luckily I came across the footage I recorded and never published until now from the year of 2019.

Captured here is the midday parade, with La Moma (all dressed in white) being the main character and doing her dance. And it turns into roman soldiers getting soaked from people throwing water from buckets at them. Out of all the religious festivals in Valencia, this is our favorite one. It's just so festive, colorful and so lively.
