After we visited the town of Garachico ( you can read all about it via the link ) and when we learned that the town has been mostly destroyed by volcanic eruption we had to find out where that volcano was. A few days later we returned to this area to hike around la Montaña Negra, the volcano responsible for Garachico's past fate.
And since the eruption is rather fresh, considering, the landscape is especially breathtaking. Black hills and sand and high craters with perfectly placed, super green pine trees.
We can only recommend this hike, we loved it so much that we even went back to hike through a part of La Montaña Negra we didn't get to see the first time around. As always, our videos can be licensed, please get in touch with us if you're interested.
