We decided to visit Benissa for some of the Puríssima Xiqueta festivities. It has been too long since we left Valencia, so we decided to travel down to Benissa for a long weekend - to see what this fiesta is all about, see some fireworks but also do some hikes and to explore some of the things in the surrounding area.
Yes, this did sound overambitious, it was but at the same time we had a lot of fun and it made us feel like we were actually doing a For91days again. We also tried some local food and found out about about something called 'Pelota' which is the perfect fiesta hangover food. But more about that soon in our Benissa article on our Travel Blog.
