The Human Towers (Castell) of Valencia in front of La Lonja

November 2021 · 1 min read · Valencia

This video was taken during the summer of 2019, now seeing this footage is weird because I just expect everyone to wear masks. Even though we live in Spain now for over 12 years, this was the first time I've seen the construction of a Catell IRL. Amazing!

The Castell is traditionally from Catalonia but in recent years there seems to be groups like this getting popular in Valencia as well. Super fun fact - this is actually a double UNESCO world heritage slam. The Human towers and the La Lonja building (silk market) in the back are both protected by the UNESCO.

This video was recorded with this camera.
