New walk!

New walk!

June 2019 · 2 min read

It has been three crazy months but things are (slowly) getting in order. Spring is always busy at the farm and it is also the beginning of my summer job as a host for vacation homes but this year it was much busier than usual.
A fungal plant pathogen at my olive grove demanded a lot of extra work on my behalf trying to save the infected trees, plus that I had a temporary job as a gardener, plus that I was moving and I had to renovate the wonderful but really old house that I was about to move in!
Long story short, I still have a ton of work but I do have again the luxury of long walks with my dog and taking pictures along the way!

You may have read at my blog that I was living at a small beautiful village on the northeast side of the island of Crete, in Greece. Well, I still do but I have moved a few kilometers to the east, to another small and beautiful village, the one at the picture above!
The stone with the carved number on it, is a reminder that I am walking on the old national road that connected the east with the west side of the island. A road that looks like that!

Not much of a road but the time it was constructed, it was a huge improvement for the life of the villagers of the whole area and today it is great for a morning walk! And it is much higher of the new road giving a pleasantly elevated view!

And the view is the strong suit of this village!

I love this walk. Easy path, amazing view and the thriving nature all around!
