"The pearl of the Danube" is known for its many sights. Whether Parliament, Matthias Church, Heroes Square, Castle Palace or Gellert-bath, here is something for everyone. Budapest invites you to stroll along its boulevards or stop off in one of the countless cafes. If you are interested in "street art" and would like to get to know the city in a slightly different way, you should not miss this article.
The Jewish district in the center of the city is also the hotspot for "street art" and scene bars. As a central starting point for your tour, you can choose the metro station "Deak Ferenc Ter". From here you can explore the neighborhood on your own or target the spots. I have created a little overview:
Városháza park
As you wander through the neighborhood, you will pass countless small bars. Often they are located in small backyards, which exudes its own charm. The old streets with the colorful walls are something very special because they are not as crowded as the tourist trails. You get a completely different view of the city and it's fun to explore the next little alley.
Here is a photo of my trip. The mobile phone in hand because behind every corner could lurk the next motive.
A little tip: Take a look at the Ruins Bars (Szimpla Kert). Crumbling facades, smeared walls, and worn furniture are so stylish that you just have to stay here.
Those who prefer the other side of the Danube can combine the excursion to the castle complex with a few "street art" motifs near the bridge to the "Gellert mountain".
