Marina Port Vell from Barcelona, Spain, is a waterfront harbor and an important part of the Barcelona's Port which is fully integrated into the city.
Marina Port Vell is not just a modern yacht-basin but also an entertainment center and touristy area that is closely linked to the famous Barcelona Aquarium, and Catalonia History Museum which are nearby.
The name of the port would be translated as The Old Harbor, and before becoming what it is nowadays, it used to be a run-down area of railroad yards, warehouses, industrial buildings, refuse dumps, and factories, until 1978 when it gathered a whole new appearance and the work for developing the port started.

Under the project for developing the area can be found 3 main areas: the commercial port, the logistical port, and the old port, each one of them having its own activities and responsibilities.
Marina Port Vell offers a great view reviving the historical side of the city being relegated to serving with traditional purposes, and that makes it become part of the last area mentioned a little bit earlier.

Marina Port Vell is extended on a pretty big surface, starting from the Columbus Monument until Barceloneta neighborhood, and along the time, it became more than just a port but also a touristic attraction that gathers over 16 million people to visit the complex every year.

Trough the many warehouses that found their place in Marina Port Vell only one survived which is now known as Palau de Mar being home for different offices, various seafood restaurants, and a museum that spreads away the story of Catalonia starting with the pre-history times until the present day - History Museum of Catalonia.
Happily, there are many more remarkable buildings that will catch your attention and curiosity - The Old Port Authority which was built in 1907 as a maritime station, Aduana Building built in 1902, the Moll of Barcelona (Maremagnum), Barceloneta Beach, Tibidabo Mountain, Santa Maria del Mar Basilica, and the impressive 14 meters statue called El cap de Barcelona. Marina Port Vell attracts not just tourists from all over the world, but also locators which are coming by for different activities that can be practiced on and near the water, such as: fishing, bike tours, harbour boat tours, segway tours, or just relax while drink a coffee or take the lunch at one of the several restaurants and cafes.

One of the most recent additions to the Marina Port Vell is the OneOcean super-yacht that will make you have an unforgettable memory while eating in the restaurant from the marina and experience a luxuriant lifestyle.

For the port located in the heart of Barcelona, we can talk about a place that was transformed into a house for both owners and captains of the boats but also for superyachts and megayachts. (60+ meters)

Currently, Marina Port Vell has up to 151 superyachts, the longest ones measuring 190 meters.

The address of Marina Port Vell is: Carrer de l'Escar, 26, 08039 Barcelona, Spain
