I know I have been talking a lot of my street food spree a couple of days ago, but I'm sorry I can't help it. I'm gonna talk about it a little more for my #MarketFriday family!
We were in our neighboring city, Ormoc, and our friends toured us around their city, to try out some of the best food in every nook and cranny of the streets.
So, here's our find. First stop was the snack junction called Mayong's Bakeshop and Snackhouse. One of our friends have repeatedly told us that the burger here is good and is relatively cheap. It only costs P55 ($1). And she is right. It was yummy!
Next is the street food around the next corner. We saw a bunch of people lining up for this, so we also lined up with them. We tried kikyam (fried meatloaf sandwich), fried isaw (flour-coated chicken intestines), and kwek-kwek (deep-fried battered hard boiled quail eggs) dipped into sweet and chilli sauce. And again, it was delicious!
Then, we went to the stall of the dragon fruit icecream that our friends have been bragging about the wholeday. Oh boy, this is super yummy!!! I cannot have enough. It is just so creamy, it melts in your mouth. When you visit Ormoc City, this sure is one to try!
Afterwhich, we went to a public playground, to satisfy our little one, and to digest our food as well. Lol. 😂
Then we went to the city's Art Gallery. These are the few paintings that can be found there:
The then city mayor, and now a congresswoman, has been a subject of art, too!
And I so love this abstract painting of bicycle in motion:

Last, but not the least, was our ramen night. We have waited for this, since the vendor would arrive at around 6pm with his mobile cart (or should I say, mobile tricycle). The vendor is a pure blooded Japanese who has a Filipina wife. They cannot afford to rent an expensive space so they just carry all they have and install it at the plaza where there are lots of pedestrian.
And yes, it may be inexpensive, but this ramen is authentic and freshly done. A bowl of ramen only cost P90 (less than $2). Amazing, isn't it?
